An appreciation

Kevin Townes, among Mount Vernon’s Bravest, excelled in the many important roles he held in his life. The 54-year-old was known as an expert firefighter, a loving husband and good father. Townes collapsed Thursday morning as he readied to enter a burning home, after suffering an apparent heart attack. His death has left his fellow firefighters, the City of Mount Vernon and all of us with heavy hearts.

Great to see all my brothers today ,all for the wrong reasons. Nice job by MT Vernon[FDMV], you sent brother Townes out with respect, and to the mutual aid companys for coverge so that all FDMV could attend. Members of Local 1971
