Currently at Hudson Valley Fire Equipment in Brewster (Seagrave dealer) getting ready for delivery. Spy shot from tonight. According to a very good friend who got to see it in person and has a very reputable opinion of apparatus, it is awesome!

The old one is only nine years old why is being replaced now

If you do the cost analysis on apparatus, a few well planned fleet management plans show that in the long run the best financials is selling before its 10th birthday. You get the most resale and least maintenance costs. Plus more reliable and safer fleet. Too many places think you save money by trying to stretch the rig till its ready for the scrape yard.

1000 gallons ..... tanker ?

They can call it what ever you want, but that's not enough water to be a tanker.

It's a Rockland County thing, they seem to have a very strange numbering system. All apparatus in the county starts with the department number for Tallman, 20. Then each engine is numbered by the GPM of the pump, in this case 2000. So the rig number should be 20-2000. However, like most departments, Tallman has three engines, each pretty much the same with each having a 2000 GPM pump, so they then start numbering engines as 20-2000, 20-2001, etc. I'm assuming Tallman, like a lot of Rockland County departments, calls this engine 20-tanker to avoid having another 20-2000 series engine and make it clearer on the radio what engine is coming.

If that is plain english, I would have hated to see what the 10-codes were.

Where are the dumps on this "tanker?" Looks an awful lot like an engine to me...
