  1. Inside HQ's ... Dude, why do you have your wife's car today? Well my battery died yesterday, remember? Yeah but didn't you go get a new battery after work last night? The store is 2 blocks away. Nah, I didn't have time. Why not? I hadda go eat.
  2. Wow, where was this article? Buried in the back of the paper? Thanks for posting it.
  3. "Bull ka ka"? Hey dc2t ... isn't that an Entenmann's?
  4. Wow, I can remember this day very well even though I was only 7. Looking out the window of my house and seeing all the smoke. Of course, all I could think about at the time was, "All right! No school tomorrow!" One thing I think about now and laugh at is watching the VFD chief responding to the scene in a Con-Ed truck. Thanks TR
  5. Fairview, Greenburgh, 2745 calls; but I don't have the fire/ems breakdown.
  6. Injured bicyclist in Graham Hills Park.
  7. I wanna know who needed the change of underwear after taking the "bomb" outside .... sounds like a junior-man job to me.
  8. Valhalla E-81 is still in Valhalla's Eng. Co. on Entrance Way.
  9. Look closely at the aerial shot of Ladder 49 in the lineup. Notice the skylights on the cab? Used to check for overhead obstructions when pulling up on scene, and also got some extra sunlight in the cab. They leaked just a bit though.
  10. Hey Jef- excuse me .... vacguy? In case you missed it, there was a smiley face after my comment. That means it was said in jest. I saw your "5th post", so please don't get all defensive. You asked your question, and others gave their reasoning. You stirred the pot and left, that's fine. Any other problems ... you do know where to contact me.
  11. Pssssssst ... Anyone notice that the kid who questioned this practice has slipped away into silence about 3 pages ago?
  12. All that wonderful hardware, and it leaves the house with a compliment of .... one .... the driver. I miss getting calls from Fairview Dutchess dispatchers for alarms that are actually in our district.
  13. Yes, a bigger one ... poor Doug looked like he was riding a kiddie ride at Playland. Good job by all
  14. Rest in peace brother. My prayers to the family, and to the department.
