On Wednesday, May 26, 2010, the Westchester County and Irvington Police Departments will be conducting a candle light vigil at the Westchester County Medical Center in support of Irvington Police Officer Luigi Osso and his family. Officer Osso was critically injured by a fleeing felon in an on-duty motor vehicle accident on April 21, 2010. Officer Osso is in the WCMC Trauma Intensive Care Unit and is still listed in critical condition. Officer Osso has been a member of the Irvington Police Department for two years and previously served with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. Officers attending this event are requested to assemble at 1945 hrs and the ceremony will begin at approximately 2030 hrs. The length of the event will be approximately one hour. Further details will follow for parking and location of the event on the WCMC campus. Please come and show your support for our brother officer Luigi Osso, his wife Maria and their families at this most difficult time. Your support will be greatly appreciated by this agency and most importantly by the Osso family.
