  1. Awesome job Dan you continue to be a role model and inspiring others, thank you
  2. The Wassaic Fire Company will be hosting a MAYDAY class on Sunday January 24th @ 09:00 hours at the Wassaic Firehouse located @ 27 Firehouse Road, Wassaic, NY 12592, see the attached flyer MAYDAY CLASS.pdf
  3. some of the lights, console and storage areas
  4. completed
  5. After purchasing a 2005 Ford SUV from the J.H. Ketcham Hose Company a few years ago the Wassaic Fire District decided to purchase a new vehicle for the Chief. The Fire District purchased a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab with a standard box from Knight Automotive in Plattsburgh, NY. We decided to buy a truck to be able to transport hose from a scene, portable pumps for flooding conditions if needed and most importantly to be able to have the turnout gear stored outside of the occupant compartment. I picked it up today and shot some photos. Lighting was installed by NYCOMCO in Poughkeepsie and graphics were done by Murasso Signs also from Poughkeepise. The 2005 Ford SUV has been assigned to the Deputy Fire Chief (me). A few shots taken from the NYCOMCO shop. Lightbar is all Red, with flashing takedowns and has a rear arrow stick, four grill lights, white LEDS located in the front fog lights and rear taillight upper area of red lens, red/blue LED in the clear backup park of the rear taillight area and intersection lights mounted under the mirrors, red/blue. Console contains a Dutchess County radio, Litchfield County radio, siren and light controls, three cigarette plugs and one double USB plug, inside the cab is also a 110 plug and the GM WIFI which the Fire District plans to keep for use on scene with the laptop or smartphone.
  6. Great shots Seth, we checked it out and it should help serve the Volvo company and their insight to help most of their employees by offering the rig to respond outside their plant is very generous indeed, some very forward thinking by the management team as the plant has employees that come from 3 states, as a fire brigade that's a nice piece to have at a nearby chief disposal even if it's just for the water
  7. No it will have a light bar, the lights and radio install are completed, graphics up next
  8. It is actually white and will have blue striping, on the trailer headed to Wassaic.
  9. Our new Chief truck will arrive today and be sent out for radio, lights and graphics install, I've been assigned the 2005 Ford seen above, I've detailed it up and the fire district allowed the graphics to be done over, along with rear Chevrons, yes it is still not blue but I think it looks SO SO much better then it previously did. As soon as the new truck is completed I will post some photos of that as well.
  10. It's a great job that I've done now for 26 years with a 25 year retirement, my department has moved away from the police patrols of our 400 acre campus to a community based fire safety job, I am a certified code enforcement officer and we cover 9 counties, with the closure of most of the facilities it's a transition from being a police job to an emergency service dept. Where we can be deployed throughout the state to assist as needed in the event of disaster such as Sandy and the heavy snow fall this past winter in Buffalo. I have no complaints and I enjoy my job as a Sgt. with the agency
  11. Nothing new, project placed on hold, new Chief vehicle should be here within a month and the fire district passed a LOSAP program in August 2014 so with us being a small company with a limited budget this has been placed on the back burner most likely to be revisited in early 2016
  12. Been chatting with Firematic on concept they are putting on the demo unit they are currently building, they are placing a jockey pump so the unit can be pump and roll, we are moving towards a re chassis at this point and re-working the compartments and possibly taking off the 15W generator as all the lights be upgraded to LED and we are researching an alternate power supply to run the hydraulic pump and tools
  13. Dover (JHK) is taking delivery of a new E-One Engine and a tanker later this year, not sure of the models but I'll get some more information.
  14. OK the fire district is again on us to move on this project, you guys have given some great advise, it looks as though the fire district wants us to remount the current body/box on a new Ford F-550 extended cab, any input on how we make this unit a better piece looking forward please share, thanks in advance!
