T&R Rescue Solutions, in cooperation with Ulster Hose #5 is presenting "Heavy Metal 2014 - Kingston" the weekend of Oct 17-19 at Ulster #5 headquarters on Ulster Ave, Kingston, NY Large, heavy vehicles surround us on our roads. These vehicles carry large, heavy loads and there will come a time that you will need to rescue someone from the grips of danger when these vehicles and their loads crash. It is not a matter of “if they will crash”, it is simply “when they crash”. NOW is the time to train for the rescue of trapped occupants from these large vehicle incidents. Join us at "Heavy Metal"!! "Heavy Metal" is presented by the most skilled and knowledgeable staff of instructors that guarantee an education “SECOND TO NONE” in heavy vehicle and equipment rescue. While this program is not designed or intended to be an “entry level” class on vehicle rescue, time is allotted to review basic tasks and skills associated with vehicle rescue incidents, in addition to introducing advanced skills and techniques. This program is as “real deal” as you will find, including the high level of risk and hazards involved with working in, on and around overturned or suspended vehicles. The program is comprised of both classroom training and outside practical evolutions that include overturns, under-rides, stacks, buses and other objects and equipment. Use of rescue tools, including hydraulic, electric and manual tools, airbags, cribbing, shoring, slings, chains, winches and more will be required.
