  1. A local meteorologist has posted this summary of what he thinks is going to happen so far. I follow him religiously in the winter and he has yet to let me down with his calls. Worth a read or at least a skim over. http://networkedblogs.com/m9sdX
  2. Well any word on how many Guard units are being mobilized? They are there for a reason.
  3. Ford recently designed a livery version of the Fusion's sibling the MKZ which has improved suspension and a slight body stretch as well to better fit rear passengers. I wonder if Ford would ever be interested in offering a beefed up stretched version of the Fusion for police work. Oh well it would probably encroach too much on the new Taurus based patrol car.
  4. I agree with everything except this part. There are over One Million military personnel available for immediate deployment in the US. It is the state's responsibilities to get the guard resources they need to the damage zones. They should know the feds will be inept to respond in a timely manner when it is their responsibility to do so if history tells us anything. However initial response should still be up to the state and their respective guard and state militias when applicable. There are plenty of other non military resources that should be readily available for rapid deployment as well.
  5. I just watched the clips online.... unbelievable.
  6. Glad to hear everything is working out for the site! So sit back and let your awesome staff handle things for awhile. I can't donate a huge amount right now however I am glad my small contribution helped to make a difference.
  7. I am not active anymore around here however it would be a real shame to see such a wealth of knowledge go down. I know when anything big happens around the metro area I come here first to see if anyone from the region has good insight. I hope everything can be worked out in the long run yet I know how difficult times are right now.
  8. Common sense screams 'Don't stand under that approaching air unit"
  9. I get the feeling they will be pushing this hard to the NYPD and any other vector bar hold outs still out there.
  10. Rest in Peace and my heart felt condolences to the family, friends, and brethren of Captain Vince Iaccino.
  11. Here is another good article on it. Personally I welcome a new Taurus based unit. With the twin turbo V6 and an AWD option this will be ideal for departments in our area for inclimate weather instead of breaking out the SUVs. I wonder if they stretched it at all from the standard Taurus. Ford has done a great deal of work to make the Taurus Police user friendly and it is a solid vehicle. I hope it does the name Police Interceptor justice. It is going to be interesting to see how these handle since its such a radical transition from the classic Panther platform CVPI. I wonder if they will really be able to stop production of the most successful patrol car in history. Photo credit to the original photographer.
  12. It is a real shame how quickly the Baltimore expo went downhill. I went four years in a row and watched it rapidly decline in quality and size. In 08 multiple manufacturers were missing and I did not bother going last year. Everything that show had to offer made it a great event to attend.
  13. Insanity here in Sussex County NJ. We are getting wild snow totals and the blowing winds have made clean up ops very difficult. The snow is a consistency that also is extremely difficult to plow.
  14. Damn shame this happened, he was a good guy to watch and he was tough as nails. Rest in Peace.
