  1. Thankfully the officer had a camera to record the incident. I have been pulled over a few times and never demanded a break. If the officer saw fit, I was given a warning. If I got a ticket I pled guilty and paid the fine. The easiest thing is obey the law.
  2. Congratulations and best wishes on your retirement, Bill. 1979 was a good year for both of us. You should be proud of not only what you accomplished in Yonkers, but what you did for the County. And to think, you worked with my sister at the A&P on Odell Ave. way back when.
  3. Congratulations to Joe, Frank and Bill. Best wishes and stay safe.
  4. That is Station 8, Warburton Ave.
  5. A few years ago a member of FDNY who went out on a disabilty made a rescue in his volunteer dept. on Long Island. Made the news. He was arrested for fraud, had to make restitution and lost his pension. Was it worth it>
  6. My condolences to Ed and the Rush family. Ray was a true gentleman and did so much for all of the Westchester Fire Service. He was my instructor for Ed. Meth. in Montour in '94, and I had the pleasure of watching the Rangers win the Stanley Cup with him in the RBI. He will be truly missed. Rob Kerr
  7. Thanks John for your kind thoughts during this difficult time. I will pass them along to our family and are sincerely appreciaed.
  8. Thanks John, it means a lot to my brothers and sisters and espeially me. God bless and stay safe.
  9. Tentative arrangements are for the wake to be held at the Lincoln Park Funeral Home on McClean Ave. Yonkers on Wednesday July 7th 2010 and a funeral mass at St. Casimir's Church on Nepperhan Ave. Yonkers N.Y. on Thursday July 8th, 2010. Final arrangements will be posted as they become available. I thank you on behalf of his sisters, brothers and daughters. Robert D. Kerr
  10. Having known Packy for thirty years it comes as no surprise Chris acted in such a manner. Good job Chris. A credit to the FDNY as well as the Westchester fire service.
  11. I caught that too, John. Ken Rosethal is a little FOX weasel. Jete handled it well and then I switched to YES.
  12. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Joyce family and to the YFD. May he rest in peace. My hope for a speedy recovery to the two injured members.
  13. It sure is nice being retired and living in Putnam County.
  14. I have known John for 20-plus years since my brother got on the job in Rye FD. I will miss his stories of the old days in Hartsdale. He had a long devotion to the fire service and he will surely be missed. My condolences to the Wickham family and the members of the Rye FD.
