  4. Good evening everyone, I need a part for a Code 3 model XL 9300 AL lightbar. I need the timing belt that make the halogen lights rotate. Today that part broke on our reserve pumper and code 3 discontinued this part. I looked on E-Bay and Govdeals.com and was unable to find even the lightbar for sale.   5. I did find some answers to my questions and I would like to share with everyone just in case you have an E-One 95ft. platform: 1) Describe the capacity of the trucks hydraulic system. The tank holds around 60gallons, the system holds roughly two 55 gallon drums of oil 2) Describe the max. hydraulic operating pressure. 2900psi 3) Describe how the hydraulic fluid is checked and capacity. Ladder must be in transport position and the oil at operating temp. Have a great day and stay safe everyone!
  6. Bill: Thank you for your in-sight, a huge help. Yes I 100% agree candidates should be able to seek out their own information. However, if they ask for help and you do not know the answer to it's fullest shouldn't you start to pull from your pool of help? Forums is a great way to do that along with manuals, manufacturers.   9. Good morning everyone, the bracket in the picture is one of two brackets that were off our 1982 Mack CF that were used to hold an aluminum tube in place to house a pike pole. I used this setup in the cab area of our 2009 E-One pumper for a 6 ft. pike pole. I would like to find more of these clamps, do any of you Mack CF buffs recognize this clamp?   11. I have a few questions to throw out there. The first is one I seen on vententersearch.com Here is the link for the article: http://www.vententer...p=1607#comments My question is with this comment: Nice crash bag Mike! A couple things you may wish to add: Coax Cutters. Even if you don’t cut battery cables, they are safer to cut door wiring harnesses and don’t build up a static charge like hydraulic extrication cutters can. A can of Brake Cleaner (awesome for quickly cleaning a sand jammed extrication tool coupling) Just friendly suggestions. And you can’t beat those Irwin Vice Grip Pliers! Irwin also makes 9 in 1 screw driver. By far the best multi-screw driver I have ever used! I carry both tools in my bunker gear. Be safe & thanks for sharing! Has anyone used brake cleaner to clean a sand jammed extrication tool coupling? My second question is on LDH 5" hose gaskets and adapters, since WD40 will dry out and swell the gaskets, could you use brake cleaner as an alternative? Or just stick with trusty vasoline on the gaskets? I look forward to folks responses to see what other departments use, and thank you for taking the time to read my post.
  12. Thank you for the help and advice. On our last engine that we recieved April 30th I specced out the Wide Adz Halligan (Probar) for a married set. Yes houlidsa you are spot in about the Akron flathead axes. That is why I asked the question, I want to be able to have the best available options to our guys on the floor and to also have a standard of tools that we will purchase for when we do another pumper in 2014 (tenantively) Great advice and tips, thank you very much for your help everyone!
  13. Good Morning everyone, I was wondering f anyone knows what type of Flathead Axe that FDNY uses? The reason that I ask is because I know it is a different style versus a regular Flat Head Axe that you would buy from Akron Brass.   14. What kills me even to this day, cut out all the bs, if you want to buy a Pierce, then buy a pierce, if you want to buy a sutphen, then buy a sutphen. It kills me how every department in the state has to bid out a fire truck. Let me propose this to the forum, If you want to buy a Ford or a Chevy, or Dodge for your P.O.V. why would you bid it out? If you have the money go buy what you want that will best suit your needs for your department. No I am a fan of passing a referendum by the taxpayers of your responding district to let them know what you want to buy and at what price. Just thinking out loud and outside of the box here.
