Firefighters training to utilize old technique

1 post in this topic

Interesting. Know several members of these departments and are familiar with their operations as I used to live in Round Rock, and they are always on the forefront of trying new things.

MANOR, Texas – Three Central Texas fire departments took part in training sessions Wednesday to rework an old firefighting technique.

Firefighters from Round Rock, Hutto and Pflugerville worked to refresh the SLICERS technique.

"SLICERS is an acronym for what we do, basically what it means is, we are arriving on scene, extinguishing the fire from the outside the building before we make entry into the structure,” Pflugerville Battalion Chief AJ Stacer said.
