FDNY Members Save Three Children from Fire 7/29/14

5 posts in this topic

Great work!

FDNY firefighters and EMS members saved the lives of three young children from a fire on Loring Avenue in Brooklyn on July 29.

“It’s what we strive to do every day and it’s a good thing to be able to save someone’s life,” Lt. Christopher Bedard, Ladder 107, said. “Everyone involved did a phenomenal job.”

Firefighters were called to the building just after 11 a.m. As they responded, the members of Ladder 107, including Lt. Bedard, and Firefighters Timothy Sonnenberg, Daniel Simon, Frank Blackstone, Michael Pfaff and Justin Tallett, were told there were children trapped in the fourth-floor fire apartment.

Excellent, excellent work gentlemen! Nice save, nice getting the equipment in there and getting the people out, and very glad it all turned out well.

A pair of Ladder Company Chauffeurs deserve an atta boy to for getting the rigs in those positions. Not only VEIS but real nice to have as a means of egress when aggressive searches are underway. Fireproof projects=no fire escapes.

If it was one floor up it would have been 3 funerals. You don't even want to know what mom's chief complaint was, and it wasn't about her kids the animal. Lt Bedard aka Bedude is from 38 Truck in the Bronx, great dude.
