  1. I don't understand why this "Incident Alert" has been posted (copied) here without any photos, or follow up. I'm very interested in any and all fires in that area and was hoping when I saw this incident here in the "Forums" section, that there would be something said about it. Are we just posting the same thing in different sections to fill up the pages? Someone must have some comments on this incident or some photos, I mean after all, that is what I want from this site.
  2. My guess is it's all the negativity that goes on here, as a matter of fact my gut tells me to shut up and not even post this. Seems that no matter what is said here someone puts a spin on it that its wrong or a waste of time or money or should be done differently, it's just not worth all the negativity to start a conversation here and for that I feel bad, I always enjoyed this site and still check it several times a day just to find out there is nothing new. That's just my two cents, but I'm sure someone will say I'm wrong.
  3. How can people out of state order these shirts? Is there an address we can send a check or cash to?
  4. I haven't lived in that area in over 25 years my guess would have been closer to an hour by ground, If it is 20 Mins like you say, I agree with you.
  5. Maybe the injuries required the victim be taken to a trauma center and I don't believe the hospital in Peekskill is a trauma center. Med flight would be much faster to Westchester Medical then ground transport I would imagine. .
  6. I always heard, the FDNY had open cabs to be able to look up to find the fire in tall buildings and most other departments in lower NY state just followed suit.
  7. I agree with this, my opinion is the City of Peekskill Fire Department has some great people and great resources, that just aren't being used efficiently. The city isn't very large square miles wise, they have 4 pumpers, 1 rescue pumper and a ladder. I think 24 or 25 career firefighters and a large volunteer squad. The 3 Chiefs are elected and are only in office 3 years. This doesn't give the chief much time to make any changes and I'm not really sure what power he has to do so. I think Peekskill Fire Department would benefit from a full time fire chief. This position would be a liaison between the city fathers and the fire department.
  8. I'll say it again, Peekskill is a ticking time bomb.
  9. OMG has Smokey seen the light, he just said "PEOPLE" refering to all firefighters, not just volunteers....I caught that Smokey, see I am a boy genius, just like you said I was. You better watch out the union doesn't see you calling volunteers "People"
  10. Should we assume that no Career firefighter has ever been out very late drinking on his night off and came to work early the next day with pleanty of alcohol left in his syatem? And when that happens, do his career brothers report him, or do they just cover for their union brother? Why when a firefighter does something wrong can we just say he was a firefighter? I will NEVER understand the hate some career firfighters have for Volunteers. What this guy did is bad for the fire service in general.
  11. We were neighbors of the Bristol Family growing up, I remember kevin when he was just a little squirt. I remember him as a kid ridding in Peekskill's engine 131 as it carried his father Owen to his final resting place. I have so many good memories of the Bristol family. It's a sad day for the Bristol Family, the Peekskill Fire Dept. and the world in general. Rest in Peace Brother.
  12. Florida, but I would like to see the design first, see if you can get the art work or a Pic posted please. If I like it and it comes in 3x I will send a check and include shipping
