"A severe weather outbreak is possible across the Northeast on Saturday. Potential is increasing for widespread damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes from central New England south to the New York/New Jersey metro areas to the DelMarVa region. Also, rough surf and and dangerous rip currents are expected this weekend at ocean facing beaches due to the large swells produced by Leslie." (per here)

We've upgraded to a moderate risk in our latest Day 2 Outlook with the forecast of a long line of thunderstorms. Tornadoes are also anticipated within and ahead of the line centered over the Hudson Valley. See http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day2otlk.html for further information." (per here)

Not necessarily, if you look at the radar that was 1 small isolated cell. the largest mass is still on its way.
