I remember when this truck was brand new. I feel old.

The Village Board will vote on this resolution Monday.

RESOLUTION DECLARING 1992 BECK PUMPER AS SURPLUS

AND AUTHORIZING ITS SALE AT AUCTION

Resolved that the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Ardsley

concurs with the Village Manager’s declaration of the 1992 Beck

Pumper as surplus, based on the recommendation of the Fire Chief, and

hereby authorizes its sale at public auction, including on-line auction

websites, such as Firetec.

Be It Further Resolved that the initial asking price will be set at $50,000,

but will be subject to the final results of the auction process. In no

case, shall the Village except less than $35,000 unless additional

authorization is granted by the Village Board of Trustees.

Here's what's replacing it, a 2015 Spartan ERV:

Didn't the last Engine 164 get shipped to some Caribbean island and then was destroyed by a volcano eruption?

Did the new one arrive and go into service yet? Good luck AFD - and I don't see more than $9,500 for it.

It went to Montserrat, an island in the Caribbean. A volcano there erupted in July of 1997, and many AFD members saw it on the news running calls.

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REDUCTION IN SALE PRICE OF

1992 BECK PUMPER

RESOLVED, that the Village Board of the Village of Ardsley has considered the

information presented by the Village Manager that the 1992 Beck Pumper,

authorized amount, despite significant attempts at such sale;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Village Board of the Village of Ardsley hereby

authorizes a further reduction in sale price as the Village Manager may approve,

in consultation with the Fire Chief, in order to sell the 1992 Beck Pumper

expeditiously to allow for the acceptance of the new fire apparatus to be

delivered within two weeks.

The latest update I've been able to confirm is that Scarsdale FD is interested in the old Ardsley Engine 164 to be their spare. Scarsdale's current spare engine is no longer in good enough mechanical  condition to fire fires.

Why one of the wealthiest communities in the nation (Scardale)  can't afford  a fleet modernization plan I don't know?
