Highway Department Plow Trucks

21 posts in this topic

I figured today would be a good day to start a thread with photos of Highway Department Plow Trucks. So please, if you have any, post 'em up and share them with us!

First up for me is Greenburgh Highway Department's Truck 29, a 2010 Mack Granite 10x10, with a Henderson Muni Body Asphalt Edition Integrated Spreader/Dump Body and Henderson Plow, photographed this past Thursday getting ready for this weekend's storm.

Seth,

That's the yard right off 27 next to a Town Highway barn right? I thought the state used contractors to plow out there?

Do these have dump bodies that go on for the rest of the year? (like the Thruway Authority does)

@27east Yup, that's it. They only had one Mack Dump/Plow, a crew truck, and a Payloader for loading salt, with a very beaten up looking garage, and a small construction trailer which I assume is used to house guys waiting for a storm.  I don't know about contractors, but I can only assume they use that one truck for a stretch of 27.

This past weekend I saw a F-Series Super Duty (F-350 or 450) with a plow and a wing-plow.  Anyone seen that set up before?

This was a first for me.  I was driving and this was driving in the opposite direction, so I didn't have  chance to snap a photo.

It must be a contractor, is my best guess.
