I saw it on the news this morning, its sad to hear so many have perished, but the child seen in the pic was caught by an off duty police officer according to the news.

This is why Codes are so strictly enforced here in the states, Im not sure about in Germany or anywhere else. But we still have problems with people not wanting the fire inspections performed, or failing to get the necessary permits and inspections because they feel they are not needed. Wooden Staircase??? For EGRESS purposes?

Everyone should embrace codes and inspections to prevent this from ever happening. (Not just because its my job!! )
