What does ANY of that have to do with actual firefighting??? It looks like nothing more than a circus act full of dangerous and juvenile stunts. Way to hose the taxpayers. As if buying million dollar apparatus, 10 million dollar palaces for firehouses, giving each commissioner their own vehicle, taking extravagant trips all around the country, etc etc etc weren't bad enough. I'm actually pretty stunned, I can't believe this crap actually goes on and no one has completely shut these districts down, sued them or had charges of fraud and misuse of tax dollars brought against them. Absolute disgrace.I totally agree. What it actually boils down to is the old saying They are nothing more then big boys with big toys. It makes the rest of the volunteer world look bad.

I can attest that Somers needs to keep the New York State Troopers Barracks. I work with these Troopers on a daily basis in my line of work and the value of investigation and protection cannot be matched. Somers you have to work hard not lose them.

I agree Croton Police should cover the same area as Croton Fire Dept. which goes into Cortlandt. Its not a tremendous area and could be more efficiently covered. Mount Airy Road East,Mount Airy Road West and those few roads that branch off. Buchanan Police could also cover a good portion on their end.

White Plains does have a good size volunteer department. They have regular training. They assist on major fires when extra man power is needed i.e. apartment buildings.

I have not seen them in the area yet. Would make for a great radar car set up. Especially in a dim light area.

We have a carry stretcher here at WCME to handle up to 650 pounds. It works great.
