  1. Tim O came from a fine family of public servants. His three brothers are on my job. Well, what I mean to say is that his one brother 'Oakie' was an E.S.U. Officer for years through the rank of Sargent. After he was promoted to Lieutenant he suffered a massive heart attack OTW home from work. The other brother is an outstanding Street Crimes LT. And the fourth a Lt in IAU. The entire family is extremely popular on and off the job. Jersey City didn't have a dry eye in the city upon hearing the news. The irony is just startling that the DWI driver a FF. A very sad day for public safety personnel.

  2. We went to bid on a Mack MR Heavy Rescue. Identical to NYPD's spec's. And I know its alot different than an ambulance, but they beat the closest bid price by $50K fully equipped. When my Unit switched to light rescue style trucks in 92' they were built by PL Customs. The light rescues are gone but the heavy rescue is still in service! The F'in thing just refuses to die. Had some cosmetic work recently but we have a LIFE TIME warranty on the box so their was no cost to us. Also note that PL is a Ford dealer among others. This cuts down drastically on the wait time for your order. If you get the chance visit their facility its pretty impressive. Good luck and stay safe.

  3. Hi Guys, new to the board. Quick question. Do you, working as a vollie, have to notify your auto insurance company that you are using vehicle to respond to calls? Either through company policy or state law? Just curious. And BTW the next time you get pulled over by a Radio Car with blue lights. Take a stand...demand an explanation from the Officer....j/k stay safe
