  1. I have been watching both a state and county helicopter fly over my house by walmart for the past hour. I can't believe how low they where. They must be looking for some. State police are driving around up here too. I to wonder whats going on.

OK i just found out by neighbor somewhere in walmart side of wohegan there was a house robbery. Suspect still at large and now county PD is driving around.

  2. i personally perfer the new york city hook...... i think it pulls sheetrock easier   thats just my opinion

NY Hooks are great for pulling down drywall or breaking windows but on a roof they stink. My opinion. If there is heavy smoke pumping out of your cut and you didn't get a 100 % cut then its hard to use a NY hook do to the shape of the head. I like to bring a regular pike pole because of the sharper point.

  3. I just want to say, I am a construction worker, and its not always the construction workers that make a construction site dangerous. Management hires non educated people to build stuff around construction sites. Your goverment can be thanked for that on to. I have been working in construction for many years and Things do need to be safe but workers need to stay alert and make sure they come home everyday. SO NO I DON'T BELEIVE CONSTRUCTION WORKERS ARE TRYING TO KILL US. OSHA, OSHA, OSHA

  4. To be a true Truckie, You have to have it in your heart. Everyone things you join the Truck Company and your are a truckie. There is a lot your need to learn, practice and teach your brothers. When your getting ready to open a roof you better know where to cut, when to cut and how to cut. Its not a game. Get up on that roof vent and get off. No playing around. Not only do you have to know venting but many jobs come up for the truck comapny, search and rescue, overhall and you better know how your trucks works and where everything is. I believe it takes a special kind of person to be a true truckie, like I said your have to have it in your heart. I am with a truck company, and when have a group of youngs guys that are great, everyone knows each, drill together and we all work well together. Be safe brothers.... TRUCKIE FOR LIFE!!!!!

  5. My department allows us to respond to the scene in our personal vehicles, we carry are gear in are cars. The Career Fire Fighters repond with the rig. I have run into some problems due to a few FFs parking on the fire block, But if it was an issue it would be moved ASAP. Everyone needs to work together and park in a safe anf out of the way condition. If we had to drive to the fire house to respond in the truck our response time would be terrible. Be safe brothers.

  6. I have seen this show several times, and every time i say to my self these guys are nuts. Being wet and cold is just terrible. The show is great though. Its good lets other people know what has to be done to get money in a differant part of the world.

  7. In Peekskill we usually assign our rescue of MVA, and an addition engine if we need it, and two engines for car fires. Our ltruck company also has a full set of extrication tools for 2nd due MVAs. recently we just had a fully involved bus fire on route 9 and we had our truck company and 3 engines.

  8. If you really want to get into foam I recommed taken FF2, The instructor went over what foam is, types of foam, how its made, when and when not to use it, and how to use it. There is a certain amount of percent of foam you want to use for the type of fire you are fighting. Believe it or not foam is not that difficult to use.

    Take FF2 Brothers.
