I like both, backdraft bring u back to the older days, where ladder 49 bring u to up to date. but i would have to say ladder 49, but backdraft had better fire scenes.

Yes, its called a hose roller, our engine has one on it, not used to much though and thats why I am on the truck.

I did wear a cairns 1010 but switch to leather real quick. The 1010 was nice and light and I have no complaints. The leather new york i wear was a treat to me, heavy its. The leather is like a marine and his rifle.

I believe if the firefighter wants to buy his own gear he should be able to, especially if the gear he buys is better then what they give. Its your life on the line.

I use the term pike pole unless I am asking for a N.Y.C. hook, our department carries both.

I would like to say great job to all the emergency personel on the scene. Everyone did a wonderful job saving the building and animals. I was one of the fire fighters who tried mouth to snout recsutation on a dog from the basement, while rushing to the fire house. Several dogs where removed from the basement from the rear of the building. Good job men and woman.
