  1. i can see somewhat of a good side to this as i have responded to plenty of calls which do not need an ambulance. most of them resulting in RMAs anyways. on the other hand i also see TONS of lawsuits that can come from this. i don't see how it would really be cost effective though. obviously a nurse would not take a salary of a dispatcher. so factor the increase in salary pay per year per nurse dispatcher and compare it to ambulance runs which might be unnecessary. i could be wrong though.

  2. well yes she has a sister, but not older. sorry. i heard some bar in orange does EMS and fire specials, we might have to check it out.

well i am not feeling too good today to say the least...had to take a test this morning and wasn't exactly seeing straight. oh well. only 21 once i guess.

  3. Izzy - hahaha oh i am a true valley boy and if i was in shelton i would be at Danny's, or that new place on bridgeport ave "the draft house." i was back in shelton earlier this morning but had to come back to Quinnipiac for a test today.

BTW - i joined ARMS so i guess i'll see you around! i have a bunch of friends and a GF in ansonia so they got me to join. i just have to go do my orientation and what not. do you ride with ARMS??

  4. the law allows us to disobey laws of the road as long as we drive with DUE regard for other drivers. i particularly don't see much wrong with his driving as no one got hurt and he did not cause any accidents. it's impossible to judge the speed from the video, i don't think he was going as fast as you think. i have driven apparatus on the wrong side of the road with on coming traffic just as he did, i drove safely and did not cause any accidents or injuries. don't be so harsh to judge if you were not there

i agree with all other statements about driving safely, if you don't get there, you are no help. but getting there safe is what this driver did!!!

  5. thanks guys and happy birthday to the other 2 as well! yes they had to get us in under the tax wire. lol.

Andrew - come on man you have to come out! sorry i had to run before but i was late for work.

Yes - andrew is right - anyone in the area please! come to whitney bar and grill, whitney ave hamden CT, right next to Quinnipiac university. getting ready now - be there in an hour!

  6. why not? if it has the ability to save a life, what should stop it. i feel it should be prescribed epi to the individual though. forgive me i didn't read all teh article. civilians are not trained under tense situations, but if an effective dispatching strategy enabled them to become calm and collected why not. i mean an epi pen, come on. as long as a person can give it in the leg and not the neck, i think all would be well.

  7. i was wondering if there was like a web site or something with the assignments of all Connecticut ambulance names. kinds worded that strangely but something like this:

    Shelton: Victors

    Derby: Kilo

    Ansonia: Bravo

    Seymour: Tango

    Oxford: Juliet

    VEMS: Zulu

(guess you can tell i'm from the valley  )

    AMR NH: Charlie

    ???: Lima

    ???: Mike

    ???: November

    etc...

    thanks in advance
