  1. This is what happens when you do not drill or have many fires, or officers who have no experience yet. You tend to forget the basic stuff like getting a hose line in place before venting, what they were venting for i don't know, vent for life safety and visibility and to remove the heat. No size up should take that long get a look and make a plan, if the first plan dose not work have a back up plan, that's what a good officers is thinking about, wear is the fire going and what i can do to stop it. Training is the best way to get better:rolleyes:

  2. I was taught how to be a good emt by the medics in mt pleasant... even while in jr corps they still taught me. and there have been many occasions where i have been on scene before the medics and i have done my own assesment... also the emt does not have to drive the fly car that is a favor for the medics... i think thats all i gota say so far

  3. i have seen people get just as close as the ff's fighting to get a good pic nd thats why i started this thread

  4. The ideal fire department is one that puts safety for their FF's and the citizens of its district above all other priorities.

    NO IF's, AND's, or BUT's about it!

Then again, I'm only an explorer :P

very very well put i wish it was like that but in the real world it probably wont happen in my department the topic of company meetings is missing pictures and its been the topic for month

  5. taking pictures of a fire scene. its a cool thing to do and everybody is guilty including myself. but there are legal and physical risks to it. you can violate hippa laws and if you paying attention to taking pictures your really not paying attention to your saftey many people have gotten hurt doing this i just wanna hear some other peoples opinions on this.

  6. im going to school for a degree in criminal justice but i find ems intresting and i enjoy doing it so why would i forget about it i have no intrest in nursing what so ever because i hate indoor jobs i would rather be out there in the field than in a hospital or doctors office seeing the same typeof thing day in and day out and dealing with the same exact pt. every day i just cant do that i love working in the field as an emt and a volunteer firefighter so why would i trade this up for something like an office job or a nursing job im trying to pursue careers in firefighting or law enforcment
