  1. We are a district and I do believe the firehouse is district owned. We have a large enough piece of property to support expansion. The property does need work though. Over the years since the construction of our firehouse, it has began to slowly sink in one corner. We are beginning to outgrow the building. After it was built there was no planning by the old commissioners on saving money for upgrades, expansion or new construction. For the moment we are pretty much putting a band-aid on all the problems that arise. So unfortunately for us we have to live with it until we come up with the funds. The property is just on the outskirts of the esopus creek flood plain. We stayed high and dry during the 2005 flooding in Ulster County. I have been trying to throw around the idea of going green also. So if anyone has any background in green technology or has any knowledge of the incentives or assistance provided by the state or the federal government that would be great. Thanks again!

  2. Fast Teams on this side of the river are limited. Besides Highland and Marlboro, the only other fast teams that i know of are Mount Marion, Napanoch and Centerville-Cedar Grove. So the choice of Highland to use Hughsonville is a smart choice. Its a closer team then one of the northern or western ones. As for using the City of Kingston, they will respond but as for a fast team thats hard because of the manpower on their engines.

  3. Just as a little more help. We currently use this rig as our main brush truck. It has no turbo in the motor so towing our six-wheeler so its slow and sucks at climbing hills. We also have it equipped with ice water rescue equipment. If its needed we take it as an additional rig for medicals. We are looking to expand to a crew cab and if we have the space add a spot for the second set of jaws. It would be an added luxury but its not a must.
