  1. I just want to clarify that my "rant" was not as result of anything that happened at this incident or with any EFFD members and I apologize to Chief Post if I came across that way.........EFFD has been nothing but courteous and professional to me as well as 99.9 % of the other personnel/departments I have dealt with and I TRULY APPRICIATE THAT!!!!!!! Yesterday was a bad day for me and my camera dying was the icing on the cake.... I presently have my camera in surgery (It's in numerous pieces) and I'm hoping for the same outcome as this incident had - A GREAT SAVE........ It was truly a good stop and was the kind of incident I love to photograph which is one where firefighters are actively engaged in an offensive battle... It costs me in many ways to do my fire photography at the level I do it ....... I don't do it to make money..... I do it because I LOVE TO DO IT..... Through my photographs I try to build camaraderie and give the fire service some of the recognition it deserves which is priceless to me.....

Geez Bill, for a while there we thought you didn't love us anymore ;)

  2. Yes I did, I was on 39-15. I also, made PoJo.com, hahahaha. The Tanker was waiting for you...wait to early for you, lollololol.

    Thomas

Just like you to make the simple complex..... alarm goes in, and the first thing you do is drive halfway across town to hop on 15? What's next, you gonna ride with PECO's fast team to the next one?

  3. Thomas, Thomas, Thomas.....you got the pics but you don't know the specs?????? By the way what did you have spies at the sign shop??????????? lol

Chief- Sign shop on busy highway+no rear yard or shop to work from+rush hour traffic because they were working on it late= EVERYBODY saw it! ;)

  4. Yea well I have some and want to verify them with you or Andy didnt want to be wrong, lol. Nope I dont have spies. My wife was driving made her pull over asked if I could and they were like sure can you drive it??? I said soon, lol. You did a great job Chief and so did the Commishiners. Thank You Chief. Hey you have 39 Posts on here...hmmmm....Ironic isnt.

    Thomas

LOL, obviously, Mrs. Thomas was driving because Thomas had a few too many liquid refreshments....... "Commishiners"???????

  5. Saw two things this morning that I have never seen before.......

    1) In the driveway of the structure- 34-12. In the driveway next door protecting the exposure.....34-12! Old and new on the same scene.

    2) Green Haven 93-11. Not from that part of the world, so I had never seen it before. Responded to the GH Farm for tanker refills. Commanded this morning very ably by past Glenham Chief Jeff Cable. Jeff's dad and I used to run to calls 30 years ago when Jeff was knee high to a grasshopper. Funny who you run into at fire scenes sometimes, people you haven't seen in years.......

  6. Yea kids woke up screaming. We are thinking bad dream then bam call. So I went to the AFA. Then went to sleep and slept I did, lol. Plus the change in tones does wake me up as good. I need County to put in line a personal wake up system in my house, lol.

    Thomas

You guys see what I'm dealing with? You got it right, Tommy responds for the AFA at 2:15, but can't manage to pull himself for a worker.... and he's probably half my age! All of that Mr. Mom stuff is wearing you out, boy!

  7. I think JBE and Piranaha174 hit the nail on the head as to why it's posted here. Thanks guys.

As far as EXDC203, if you have an issue with what I post on here, you can PM me or email me at seth@emtbravo.com

No need to "hijack" threads with irrelevant comments.

Ouch! Looks like EXDC picked on the wrong guy to criticize. , From what I hear of the big fire in Pawling the other night, they could have used something like this as something must have gotten bogged down in mud. They called for a heavy wrecker from Hyatt's Garage with a 1 hour ETA. Never hurts to know what resources are available, even if they don't have hose and a siren (it IS red, though!) ;)

  8. Any idea who owned the carrier? I know of a company in Newburgh that runs 11 transports, the cab painting looks awfully familiar to theirs. They had a truck catch fire last week. Would really be unfortunate if this was their company. Company I am thinking about is Monroe Auto Transport. Anybody on scene get a look at the door of the cab? (I know, there were plenty more interesting things to look at.....)

  9. FF was Tim Welch. Quoted in a newspaper interview (Middletown Times Herald Record) as saying "I'm not a hero. Any of my brothers, my fellow firefighters . . . would have done the same thing. I'm just a fireman. That's all I am." OUTSTANDING!!! FF Welch if you read this, thank you. I have printed the article with this comment and I intend to leave it for my sons to read (ages 12 & 9). There is a lot to be learned from your brief words. Great job by FF Welch and also by MPD officer Vincent Andre, who originally laddered the building. Hats off to you both.....

  10. Well I heard a car fire go out in Orange County and it kinda hit me. Also the road can be anywhere, I just said those because that was kinda where the call was. So yes I will not sleep untill I get an answer, lol.

    Thomas

Well, then I hope no one answers. You'll stay awake and then maybe you can make the engine the next time there's a 2 am call. Then I won't be sitting on the apron waiting for you ;)

  11. For the Fire Departments and EMS that have to get onto and off of major highways that have tolls, like I-87 or I-84. How do you pay the tolls??? Or do you??? If your going to a call are you going to stop to pay that dollar??? Are thier deals or a special toll lane???

    Thomas

Tommy boy, do you stay up all night thinking up these questions? I ride I-84 all the time and I haven't paid a toll yet, unless you mean on the bridge. Maybe one of the boys from Beacon can answer that one, although they wouldn't have to pay a toll to GET to the call, only to GET HOME again (tolls only collected eastbound). As to the Thruway, there are usually gates along the highway where emergency vehicles can get on the road if the incident is between exits. How 'bout it Orange and Ulster guys, can you give Tom some respite for his latest dilemma?
