  2. Since when do State Trooper give breaks anyway...?

No they definitely do. It happens in Towns and Villages too. I have experienced this personally. Usually its a case where a moving vioaltion is downgraded to so you don't get points on your license. There is still a fine thought it could be less than the original violation.

  3. Man those Musters were always a great time! I used to look forward to them every year. Always was the last Saturday in June and if memory serves me right it almost never rained! I remember when they were at the Kensico Dam originally.

The one they had three years ago was nice but nothing like it used be. I was hoping that it would start a comeback but it hasn't happened.

    Bravo billo647!!!!

    Bring back the Croton Muster!!!!!

  4. I haven't heard or read anything about "Rescue Me." Anyone know if it is coming back this year? It's usually on during the summer so I would think that they would be filming by now.

  5. Amen!!!

I work right down the street from that Diner and have eaten there many times. I am shocked to hear that they are closing! I had no idea! You're right they do have good food and I hope they do open up again for our benefit as well as the owners.

You're also rigtht about the Bank issue. Its crazy!! Remember a few years back when  everyone was saying that we were going to do all of our banking online and we weren't going to need tellers or banks anymore? So much for that theory!!!!

    :o

  7. I'm not a police officer and I wasn't there but why did the SWAT teams storm into that bank? It seems like such a dangerous tactic! I think I've seen enough cop shows and movies to know better. They were lucky that last hostage or anyone else wasn't killed!

    Maybe they knew something?

Anyway, I didn't see a full story in the news. I was wondering if anyone else got the full story.

    Just curious.

  9. i'm looking for scanner frequencies for departments in lower westchester and some surrounding areas. i have 60-control, and a bunch others as well as the city, i'm looking to fill the 200 channel scanner i have so its making a lot more noise. either pm me or just post them so others can also get them. thanks.

If you look at the top of the "Communications" topic you will see postings there for Metro area frequencies. There is both PD and FD there. Should be enough for you to get started.

  10. I just heard some traffic on a aviation frequency where someone was asking a controller to move news helicopters away from the Yonkers area because they are interfering with operations. After I read your post, I checked the Journal News website and found a headline about a shooting on Fulton Avenue in Mount Vernon at a check cashing store at 8:30 this morning. Seems a security guard killed a robbery suspect there.

Don't know if this is all related but it could be. Check the newspaper site for details.

Didn't see anything on News 12 site.

  11. A total of 53 dogs and cats were rescued last night. Although a few did not make it, most were doing just fine after the fact!  I would also like to thank all those other "outsiders" that assisted with everything they did. It was a massive group effort and the results definitely paid off...

I also want to say what a great job by all the departments and personnel involved last night. I was there myself being that I live right across the street so my wife and I saw first hand. It proves again that it doesn't have to be just people that are worth saving and the dedication is there no matter what. I saw many members from police, fire and VAC assisting the injured animals.

    Great job by all!!

  12. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office is responsible for the investigation and determination of the cause and manner of all sudden, violent, or unusual deaths in the County. Take a look at their Special Operations Response team vehicle by going to LAFirePhotos.com

Just figured I'd share it because it's so cool and unique.....

    Wow!! Thats awesome!!!

  13. if you were closer to dutchess you could get 96.9, thats a great rock station!

You're absolutely right! 96.9/92.7 is an excellent station if you are in the Dutchess or northern Putnam area. Give 'em a try!

Also, on a bit softer side is WDST 100.1. They will literally play anything! They are out of Woodstock but come in real well in Dutchess. A little bit like Fordhams FUV but way better.
