  16. Hot Off The Press - Recommended Reading ! This Book published by www.mtpublishing.com Excellent fire-related photographs from the early part of the twentieth century. Mr. Albert Dreyfous and his camera captured many spectacular fires and tragic events in New York City. He is best known for his photos of horse-drawn fire apparatus in Manhattan. Often photos from Dreyfous were used by FDNY to document fire scenes for investigations. Overnight he would monitor activity via the fire alarm telegraph installed by the fire department in his west side apartment. Dreyfous would head to the street and the local engine company would stop and pick him up ! Much more information about this interesting man is detailed in the book by Gary Urbanowicz an FDNY historian . 200 Pages of some of the best photos I have ever seen. The Dates, location and related story are all printed in the book. Two thumbs up - Super Holiday gift ! Thanks to "Doc" - Commissioner Kiernan of NRFD for introducing me to this treasure.
