  7. Many applications to become a member ask if you have been convicted of a felony. I have seen were the answer was not truthful and the applicant was denied based on false information.

  13. Interstate 287 Eastbound prior to Exit 6 (North Broadway) on the White Plains / Fairview line early 1960's. Colonial sand & stone Cement truck rollover damaging a moving passenger vehicle. Fireman/Motor Pump operator of White Plains Engine 3 (County E67) He was most likely on housewatch duty when the alarm was transmitted due the the fact he is still wearing a neck tie. Colonial Cement truck is pulled back on its wheels by a tow truck on scene.

  17. City Of White Plains FD Maxim pumper in the Columbus Day parade in the early 1980's. Parade is proceeding on Martine Ave towards the newly built JC Penny store in the Galleria Mall.

  19. I am hearing from several people the old Quad 2 ended up at Brookfield Auto Wrekers for parts. The Quad was originally a 1957 Oren. It was refurbished, fitted with an International cab along with a diesel powered motor and automatic transmission. After several years of continued service the truck was at the Westchester County fire training center. It returned to the village but remained out of service due the Elmsford Fire Company having newer apparatus.
  20. White Plains FD Maxim (Engine 2) County Engine 66 and members on scene of the huge A&P warehouse fire in December 1967. Firemen worked for over 12 hours during bitter cold weather conditions to battle one of Elmsford NY's largest fires. Members without helmets were mechanics who routinely responded to major events.
  21. My prayers for Thomas Zgrodek and his family during this tragic time. His dedication to Platekill Fire Department was truly remarkable. Sorry for your loss of your friend.
