Its sad that this still goes on in the fire service or in any type of service.

Sounds like we all are worried what happens in the firehouse gets put on facebook. If we are so worried that something bad that happens at the fire house lands there, well maybe you have a bigger problem in your firehouse that you should be watching and takeing care of.

Keep in mind if your taking pictures of aircraft at the any airport, does not mean your going to get arrested or lose your equipment, but you can be questioned on why your in a certian area and such.

Good old fashion 50/50 raffle worked well for us.

I know Elmsford, Mount Kisko, and Yorktown have sent canvess letters out.

Now same question for Westchester County Airport, who would supply boats there? DEP? Or is the resivior not considered significant body of water, and also does the Long Island Sound fall under the airports plan.

According to the NYTimes, by law one rifle of the five is randomly loaded with a blank, other than giving the element of surprise to who actually kills the inmate, I see no reason for that measure.
This is not done for the element of surprise, its is done so, this is done so that no one really knows if they fired the kill shot.

Took the plunge this morning and ordered the MLB Extra Innings package from Comcast for $179. When I was up in Myrtle Beach, I had a sat-dish and was able to get every Yankee game. So now down here in Fla, this seems like the best option, being as I already have Comcast bundled services.
Anybody have MLB Extra Innings? If so, what do you think of it....
Thanks in advance and Happy Easter.
I had it a few years ago, its alot of baseball!!! What I like about it I use to come home late from work and still be able to see a ball game on the west coast. The Dodger game had Vince Scully doing the call, made me remember the days of the Game of the Week on channel 4. What I liked about it was all the out of market games, besides begin a Yankee fan (die hard) I like the Pirates and I got to see them. I got rid of it after I got FIOS, with ESPN showing a few games a week, MLB Network with a few games a week, WGN showing the Cubs and White Sox, and Yes, SNY,TBS I get my fix and save the 179. Enjoy your season would like to know if you become a fan of another team besides the Yankees

At the risk of getting a few malicious negatives (like the ones I got when someone actually looked me up and then negatively rated a thread that I had started LAST YEAR), not that I care too much anyway, I'd like to come out and say that I think the whole membership rating system is nothing more than a popularity contest that contributes nothing to the board. The whole point to the board is to debate the issues; if you agree and would be inclined to rate a post or thread positive, you don't have to say anything other than "I agree." Conversely, if you disagree, and would be inclined to rate it negatively, then it just seems better to debate the issue.
The same happened to me, its just popularity contest and a way for people to get even on post they dont like. I dont see any real purpose for it, but whatever, it is what it is.

Remember Nero fiddled while Rome burned, looks to be the same here in NY.

I think it is very simple to answer the Chiefs question. If you have a parade to go to chances are the neighboring Departments are going also, so here is a plan that is simple to use, if you don’t have the coverage you don’t go to the parade. Why is that so hard to understand?

USAR Team 1 is being sent from Virgina they are the international response team, they will be joined by other international teams.

Perhaps the Chief had permission to take the car out of the boundries of the Island, too pick up a family memeber.

A fine Ship, made for the fine people of New York and the memories of all those who perished on 9/11. May God bless this ship and may His hand guide them on all missions they serve. A proud day to be a New Yorker, as a piece of New York comes home.

Experts say hmmmm. Would that be the same experts that allowed this person to turn himself in to the Prince. Excuss me Mr. Obama, Bin laden called.... He wants to turn himself in, TO YOU!!!. This is a joke, was a joke when we had it in our briefing three weeks ago and still is a joke now. We are no more concerned about this then any other security issue. There is alot more to this story then is being said. When you hear full story you wonder how this guy was not caught.

I'm still trying to figure out why you all route for the "New York" Jets and the "New York" Giants when they play in New Jersey.GO CHIEFS!!!!
I can see New Yorkers rooting for a team right across the river, I am a diehard Giant fan. But your from CT. and you root for the Chiefs, how does that happen. Not knocking you, but just curious?

I was 12 years old when this fire occured in my neighborhood, I remember my Father and I were watching it from the corner and the roof caved in. My Father dragged me away all of a sudden saying something aobut I didnt need to see this, pushing through the crowd we went home. I didnt understand why? Until the mext morining when Mom bought the paper did I realize what happend, that six brave men where not going home when that fire was over. They are remembered my friend they are remembered. Rest In peace

30 years ago today Aug 2nd ,New York Yankee Catcher Thurman Munson passed away in a deadly plane crash in Canton Ohio. He is one of the Yankee greats, perhaps the halls of Cooperstown will one day open for him.
He was the first Yankee Captain since Lou Gehrig. He was a six-time all-star, named the American League Rookie of the Year in 1970. He also earned three Gold Gloves due to his defensive playing abilities behind home plate. In 1976 he won the Most Valuable Player award for hitting .302 and 105 RBI's. During his span with the Yankees he led them to three American League pennants and two World Championships.
Oh Captain my Captain rest in peace.

This week marks 40 years ago that we won the race to the the moon. I think we should honor these brave men of the Apollo Missions and give them a great big thank you and a good ole pat on the back. Good Job gentlemen good job. Here is the a link to of all the names of the men that fly under the Apollo Missions, out of all these names only 12 walked on the moon.http://www.nasm.si.edu/collections/imagery...auts.htm#lovell

Lets put a twist on this, lets say firefighter or EMT X & Y have been complaning about firefighter Z's driving skills. This has been going on for months. But we have all heard dont worry he has been around a long time he or she knows what they are doing, or he or she was just past as a driver they will learn, etc. Meanwhile firefighter or EMT X &Y are concerned that nothing is being done about Y. SO for fear of thier saftey and memebers saftey and the saftey of the comminity the post a video of the unsafe habits of driver Y on some social network they belong to. There defense is we are worried about public saftey when this person drives and since no one acted on it they went public for fear of the publics saftey.
