  1. Actually I'd like to push the envelope and see a Carmichael or Scania...

They need a new engine I am not impressed with TL-40 the led lights, the whelen electronic siren, they should have gotten something like their old rig with the mechanical siren in the grill. They have gotten the standard KME model the Excel cab. The predator does not look nice at all. They should buy a KME but not like their ladder.

  2. Bad color, and worse price. They must have really gone for all the bells and whistles and goodies for it to cost that much.

1.2 million what a waste of money they should have never bought that thing there is no place to put it. They should have bought another e-one pumper and possibly a rescue truck.

  3. White Plains was scheduled to purchase a ladder this year but it has been postponed until next year. The best I can figure on this rumor is that if a salesman were to call and wanted to demonstrate a truck for us we would look at it.

I live in white Plains I have heard in the past that White Plains was looking to buy a new Ladder truck I hope they are looking at other alternatives rathing than buying a seagrave or another american Lafrance like we did before.

  4. They break up the tradition of having suvs as chief cars. My advice stick to what had before

Years of tradition unimpeded by progress.

What we had before? Crown Vic's and Impalas?

If it weren't for breaking tradition, there wouldn't be suv's as chiefs cars. At a time SUV's were the exception to the norm.

The reason some departments use pickups as command vehicles is it can double as a utility for hauling equiptment. Something that can't easily be done with a SUV.

Like I said stick to what you had before. No whelen lights or sirens Just regular lights and sirens. I have seen departments with impalas and crown vics. Those should be used only for police purpose only. The Harrison fire chief should have kept the car before, not waste money on something that should a utility truck

  5. does anyone know of what archville f.d. runs as apparatus i know of a '93 pierce pumper and an'82 hahn pumper but don't know of any chiefs cars or antiques that they may have, if anyone can help me, i would appreciate it. thanx, steve

They have two chief cars 2631, 2632 one is a jeep, the other is a ford explorer

  6. My department would be 5 engine companies 2 ladder companies 1 rescue, several support units

3 chiefs cars all tahoes white with red lettering.

The rigs will be a mix of spartan kme hme and sutphen with code3 or federal lights and siren packages no leds or strobe light bars. the department will be all volunteer with dispatching done by police. The system will be three rounds depending on box location and will be tested daily at 12:00 noon and 6pm
