  1. Signed.....

This concept goes so far beyond the fire service....... Our Nation has turned from one where hard work, honor, and integrity have been replaced by an attitude of entitlement.

If I hear one more lazy slacker or kid who's done nothing with their life begin a sentence with the words "I deserve....." I think I'm going to blow my top.

    AMEN

  2. Hey guys and gals. I'm doing a report for school and I need to know all the active stations, posts and response areas of bls and als units for the county. This includes all vacs, paid and commericial ems units. There is a list from the New York State Dept. of Health website but I don't know how many are actually active and/or not just coroporate office locations. So i was wondering if anyone could help me on this issue. Any help on this would be greatly appriciated. thanks.

  4. So I was reading about FDNY EMS' hiring process, and was wondering how difficult it may be. I know the physical involves a stair master (with a 40ilb vest), a ergonometer (the hand bicycle thing), the arm lift and the leg lift. I was wondering how difficult it is. Maybe some of the FDNY EMS members on here could help me, thanks.

  5. haha

Jfly, I tried, they made a good knock down lol

R1-lol dnt u mean the "Y.O"? and i wasn't buffing, just happend to be in the area ;-)

Mac ur right, the other job was about 2 blocks away around the corner on jerome and mosholu parkway north about 10min earlier. I don't know the entire rundown but i remember hearing queens co's such as E292 acting E90.

  6. oh cmon, ofcourse "fixed noise" oops i mean fox news, is going to scare and present a doomsday scernerio. They want to make it seem like the current administration is bad because its not republican. You cant listen to them, they are like little kids that want to seem like the good ole boys but cant. fox news is a joke, i dont even watch them. and glen back (the guy reporting) should go cry again like he did last week. whatever, just my 2 cents....

  7. Ok, so im thinking of going into the Us Coast Guard or Navy. I want to be a Damage Controlman. There is a few reasons why I want to go in:

    1.Challenge

    2. Benefits

    3. Serve the country

    4. Helps with civil serve job

But I do have a few questions:

    1. Reserve or active?

    2. Do reservists get the same civil service points as active personel?

    3. I may have a job lined up already but if i go in the real job i want i may have a better chance of getting. so should i give up the job now for the better one later?

    4. Some people are telling me that a degree is better and that i should just stick it out in school. Are they right?

So I ask everyone, especially the Service men and women to help me out on this, thanx.
