  3. I think the old 1987 U-5 has been sold. U-34 out of service I think also..

Anybody know of the new TL 18 for somers?

If they get rid of U-5 and U-34, whats the department mechanic gonna be bummin around in?

  4. I say we sell all the fire trucks we run and buy pick ups and mini pumpers, this way we get the best of both worlds, good fuel economy (yea right) and a real fire truck responding to calls (yea right)! look what they run upstate, in the mid west and down south, they cover hundreds of square miles, granted not as populated and the only "support vehicles" they have are their own POV's! "Oh what would we do without chiefs cars" my father used to say when he was a fire commishioner!

  5. lol no. I think its a special solution you have to add. IIRC its AUS 32 or something. Urea and nitrogen i believe. supposed to reduce NOx from diesel exhaust. I'll keep my 7.3 powerstroke ;)

Ill second that brother, never get rid of mine either! Best pick 'em up truck diesel engine out there!

  6. Keep in mind, Texas is a gigantic state with large stretches of rural highway that are very well maintained and marked, with great visibility. However, I do think this would increase the fatality rate of accidents and I don't think some drivers could handle this speed.

    FULL ARTICLE: http://www.statesman.com/news/texas-politics/at-85-mph-texas-could-have-highest-speed-1383090.html

Number 1: people around here are to occupied with stuff in their cars and their little electronics to drive at all at that kind of speed.

    Number 2: 85 MPH is population control! J/K ,

Number 3: I would love to have a road around here that is 85 MPH, me being the motor head that I am!

  7. well, I guess my mother will be buying an expedition instead of an explorer when she goes for a new car next year. She has owned a '92 '98 and '05 and my father has owned a '97 and an '05. I owned an '01 so yes I have had many of them but dont want anything to do with this, whatever it is, I know this is what the people want but....... well just read my caption!

  8. Found this Ford/Ward Lafrance at the Thunder Ridge Ski Area in Patterson, NY. NYS Registration sticker on windshield says 1969 with a VIN of C85LUD98788, a plate on the pump panel said 1968. Obviously was a snapple advertisement, but it looks like it was originally red, and later repainted yellow. 1000gpm pump/500 gallons water(estimate). Inside the cab, on a sunvisor KEH-912 is written in marker. Google search comes back to Ulster County Emergency services. Does anyone have any ideas on who this previously served?
