    You know it was a terrible thing in Orleans, but lets start with some facts,

    The very first person sued should be Naggen the Mayor of the city, ALL local and State goverment for at least 10 years have stolen and misused federal money to get those levee's corrected

    Yes the Feds didnt respond like we would have liked, our dept. went on for days on, if we get hurt its on you, when guys wanted to go down and help.

    This, its President Bush's falut is what we deal with today, one's own responsibilty, the politicians of New Orleans are the ones that should go to jail for their stealing and total not caring for the people they serve.

    Lets see:

    New Orleans is shaped like a dish bowl and under sea level

    Is located on the gulf of Mexico

    Corruption is expected since its New Orleans

    So for all this time nobody knew those things were going to pop and its the Feds who are the bad guys.

    There doesnt seem to be ANY responsibilty for a politicaisns actions.

    Been out there looking and except for die-cast, cant find a 1/35 sclae model of a rear mount seagrave, tried most companies of plastic models, plastic would work better since I could mod the thing to look like ours, way more flexiable, plus it would kill me to wreck those nice die-cast paint schemes.

    Any idea's or if someone knows where I could grab one????

    First Happy New Year to all,

    I hope this local gives out a call for other locals to come say hello to that dope, to block out any rig for any reason is beyond stupid. I dont know the whole story over there, but I can assume the City is a big part for this nonsense going on. Hey Fahan come on over to the Vern and try some crap like that. No union member should have to take this. Shame on the city of Stamford.

    Tonight on News 12 Former Fire Commissioner Nick Cicchetti of Mount Vernon and Jonathan Lovett stated that a lawsuit is in place against outgoing Mayor Ernie Davis. Nick Cicchetti was recently dismissed by the 12 yr mayor. Who's next?

    Jody , whats his beef, incompitance is not a reason to get fired??

    Great comparrison, whats really scarry, a couple of the people that could have made a difference, work there!!!!!

    All our members want is a positive work place, and our topics on this forum to be is, How FDMV is a top professional department, we have without a doubt some of the BEST

    firefighters in this county. No offense to others but thats the mindset we need to have.

    Im not sure that a ladder could fit at station 4 although Ladder 2 is relatively small. The turn to get out of the bay to Oak street is tight too. Jodi or Loftus would know if it could fit or not.

    Yea it will fit , they had me try it a couple days ago. turns out were tricky but its possible, the real solution would be station 2, 45-60 seconds more to get where we need to be. Plus the room to work like a human being. Take care

    Yes, I'm gonna try to put together a collection and use times frames, Volunteer manpower and changing times. Thier history cant be denied in Mt. Vernon its part of it.

    Getting the info and transferring it takes time, and Mt. Vernon library has its own problems so getting to the room downstairs is a problem right now, thats were a lot of good stuff is, but like firehouses thier building is damaged and undergoing very slow repair.

    Thanks for all the supprt out here, when you drive by just look for all the pickups parked on the grass, and nobody better make fun of our lawn furniture.

    The funny part is the bosses think their fixing things they forget they created this mess.

    The reason for the trailers is funny too, they dont want to take a truck from the northeast side of town, but closing a west engine company is ok, and closing a south side truck company was to.

    I guess these people dont count as much.

    They can make a agruement for a truck with all the OMD"s there but it only goes so far. Station 2 would make more sense and most likely only add about 1:00 min. more on our response time in that area.

    But what does my small mind know.

    I guess Im gonna find out what its like living after Katrina,

    if the walls could talk in these old firehoses.im also intrested to know about that crash truck,were it came from and will it be used? what kind is it and what year?

    That crash truck has been sitting there for almost two years now. I think we got it from Stewart, Just like all rig work hold your breath. Davis will just call FDNY for all our needs, since he doesnt have to put anything in the FD. Shame because that beast might have potential. Love to see it pull up at a job.
