  1. I remember when I was a kid going to watch my dad and his company (Rescue 14, Ossining) compete in "speed drills (hydrant connnects, timed hose runs, target accuracy stuff)up at Anne M Dorner Middle School field. Dont know if it was an Ossining thing, or an everybody thing, but I dont remember other dept's being there)

Does anybody still run stuff like that? They were kinda cool to see? Just recently found some old pix from them, thought I'd ask.. . . .

  3. St Augustine Cemetary and Dale Cemetary also have OFD memorial areas. Both have large stone memorials and the annual Communion (memorial day ) prayers are held at the site.

I'm not familiar with the bricks , however FASNY does have names on bricks at the Hudson Retirement Home in Hudson NY.

I found this website - dont know where this is but I don't think its at one of the cemetary's (definitely not Dale - They dont have this much open space!). It looks like a park, but I cant remeber which one. Anyway, thanks for the info! I appreciate the response.

    Have a great holiday!

  4. I heard there is a Firemans memorial located in Ossinig, and that you can buy engraved bricks through a website someplace. Does anybody have anymore info on this? Where is it, too. Born and raised in Ossining, and an OFD members' son, I'd like to get into this if I could. I think it would be great! Anybody?

    Thanks!!!

  5. www.ossiningfire.com may have some info or pics of what you are looking for.  I am told the house is up and operational now - I swear I heard that somewhere, I will probably be down that way in the next couple of days, I'll take a look.

That would be awesome - I'd look myself, but since I'm in Vegas. . . . . . I checked Ossining Fire.com, but the only pic they have is a small one of the demo of the old house (kinda depressing - I spent a childhood there - my Dad was a lifer on 14). L-41 's site has some pix, but nothing really past carpet and paint, and 14's site doesn't even mention it. I'm looking forward to seeing it all operational. In any event, thank you for your help in advance - I appreciate
