  1. The Tower Ladder is a Seagrave 95' Aerialscope as previously stated. The final inspection trip is scheduled for June 20-23rd. If the rig is accepted it will most likely be at the Firehouse Expo in Baltimore July 26th through 30th.

Just got the update on the Tower Ladder. The rig is completed and only a handful of minor issue to correct. Unfortunatley, it looks like the rig WILL NOT be at the Firehouse Expo in Baltimore next month. In all probability, the rig will probably be on it's way to Mt. Vernon in 2-3 weeks. It looks real sharp and I should have pictures to post by late Thuraday or early Friday. That's the update.

If the rig is accepted it will most likely be at the Firehouse Expo in Baltimore July 26th through 30th. As far as the Ferrara Engines they will not make it to the Baltimore Show as also stated. They are on Ultra cabs that will not be completed until early August. We are working on having them in FDIC East in Atlantic City October 3rd to 6th. We also anticipate Pleasantville FD's 2 new Ferrara's to make FDIC East as well. That's the latest news as it stands now. I'll post more as I get it.

  3. They just started production of 13 new episodes last month. A good friend of mine is the Stunt Coordinator on the show and he said Dennis Leary wanted to wait and shoot some episodes in the winter for a different look. I'll keep you posted on any news I find out.

I don't claim to know anything about Trucks other than how nice they look. And always thought Seagrave was the best available. But, I play softball in a FDNY league and all of those guys absolutely hate their Seagraves (rivets are the major problem I hear).

True, Seagrave did have a major problem with the rivets on some FDNY rigs. The problem has been corrected.

  5. Mount Vernon back in the 80's had 3 Tillers. They were 60 something LaFrances and they had one re-furbed around 85 or 86. This was the one that flipped over at a job in the early 90's. They also had a Segrave they borrowed from FDNY for a while but it had to go back. Tillers were a great truck for mount vernon and something they should seriously consider bringing back.

  6. FDMV's new Seagrave 95' Tower is slated to be built along with another dept's (unknown who) 95' before Seagrave goes into production of 11 FDNY 75' footers sometime around May or June. Right now this is all tentative but looks like it will happen. Possibly they could see the rig around July although anything can change. As far as the Ferrara engines they are scheduled to be built and you may be able to see them at Firehouse Expo in Baltimore in July. Ladder 3 did have the motor and tranny redone and there is no talk of re-furbing anything else at this point ($$$$). The only talk was of doing something with R1 as a re-chassis possibilty but again $$$$. We'll see..............................
