New 2006 American Lafrance Eagle Eng-24 is replacing the old Sutphen, no specs on any of them at this time.
The only thing I know of L-12 is it is a 75 foot stick

From what I was told New Rochelle took delivery of their new engine 24
American Lafrance eagle replacing the old 24 (Sutphen). Not sure when or if it is in service yet.

10-8, I saw the "Spy Shots" of the new E-24, which looks great btw. I work about 2 blocks away from NRFD station 4 and usually their spare engine(E-17 or E-18) is housed with E-24. Does anyone know what's going to happen to the old E-24 or the spare once the new engine comes in? Is this new heavy rescue going to replace R-4?As far as I know the old engine 24 will become a spare and either 17 or 18 will remain another spare down at station 1...the remaining of the 2 (17 or 18) may become a foam pupmer.
Also the new heavy rescue will replace rescue 4 and I believe rescue 4 will become a rescue geared towards trench/collapse.

Last week in New Rochelle, I saw an American LaFrance 110' Rearmount stick that was un-marked except for "110' Aerial Ladder" on the ladder itself. The guys were doing something with it at 666 Pelham Rd. along with E-24 and E-17.I think they were checking the funcionality of the 110 in there city
they are up for a new engine 24, a mask service unit ( both to come in winter 05-06) and i believe a new truck, and a new heavy rescue are also in the works

heres my .02
Each scenario is always different. I think by saying xxx 10-84 nothing showing, investigating is a good reply. Think about it you are on scene (84) at that particular time there is no obvious chaos(nothing showing) You need to check the premises more thorough(investigating)
This is a good initial size up. Everyone responding shall still know that it is a preliminary reply and shortly after there will be another transmission. It can be nothing or a big something, but we shouldn't get complacent and assume it is nothing
It is the job of every F.F. to be 110% prepared at all times. The biggest problem is we all interpret nothing showing differently..
Why??? It should be universal expect the unexpected. You never know..
We all interpret a 10-75 the same so why not get on the same page for the initial
response

Just to be curious. I know this year it almost done with, but is there a way that we as members can vote to see which incidents will be up on the list. For the next upcomeing year. One of the fires that sticks out in my head was the fire in New Rochelle back in march...not sure of the date but i know the conditions were real bad,
snow, 10 degrees, 50 mph winds, and at night

Hey fellas: Not to be on the negative side but you are missing something.
Uncle Ernie Don't really care what you do!!!!..Correct me if I am wrong but didn't they close down station 2 back in december of 2002, and hang signs on the door that said this station closed due to manpower, call 911 in case of an emergency??
This made the papers and channel 12 news, and when questioned Uncle Ernie promised to put 10 men on before years end. He didn't hire until march of 2003 and still slipped away with 9 men. He is as sly as they come!!!
Another problem that exists is that the majority of the residents think that Ernie is God's gift to the world and are brainwashed by his tactics. They don't really understand the dangers of the manning issues nor do the majority really even give it a thought or care. They have no respect for the FD and feel that these guys are over paid and do nothing all day! Little do they know how hard these guys bust there humps with the little resources they have...
Suggestion: First You need to start with the Removal of the self centered control freak. He controls both the FD and the PD but doesn't have the slightest clue about either one. All he is concerned with is how every year there is a multi million dollar surplus in his budget. Well hello a**hole if you are under staffed every day and operating with ancient equiptment of course you are gonna have money left over..My question is does anyone even know where this excess money goes???
Until he leaves I feel the issues will never change..
So suggestion 2: Being there are like 200 churches in the Vern, those are the places to spread the word!! If you get all of the church goers to start praying for Ernie to leave maybe God will answer and????
" Farewell Ernie"
