  2. First things first... I know who The Eagles are

And believe it or not I have a crystal scanner at home from my grandfather that I used to listen to as a kid.

So not ALL of us youngsters don't know :P :P JK

My uncle actually just bought a Record to CD recorder and he is going through and putting all of his old records onto CD's kind of neat

  3. PJ I love you to death man but do ma a favor and google pictures of your boy McCain. At a rally for war vets that he was speaking at...yep you guessed it no flag on his lapel.....there are numerous pictures of him with NO flag on his lapel

This is just a general statement not directed at you RED or anyone, but since when did wearing or not wearing a pin on your jacket ever have anything to do with how you care about or fight for this country?

  4. Ok my Department has gone to fuel restrictions. Meaning we can not leave the station unless we get a call. The only excepetions are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Thoses days we can go out and do training, mapping, surveys. The only time we can go get food is when we are returning from a call.

Most days i bring food to atleast cover me till lunch. Most of the time we will get a call and are able to stop on the way back and pick up dinner. Well today we havent had a call and my LT will not let us leave the station to go get food.

Does your department have restrictions in place? When are you allowed to go out?

    Thanks for letting me VENT!

    Hungry in SC!

I hear were you are coming from and please don't take offense to this, but aren't there still delivery boys?

Unfortunately your LT is just enforcing the SOP/SOG given to him by the admin.

  5. I agree with the fact that this post needs to be addressed to EVERYONE. I believe it was meant to make us think before we make a post.

I can count a many times when I wrote a multiple paragraph response to a thread and by the time I finished and reread my post I completely deleted it because I knew what I was doing.

Take this thread for example, in only 3 days there have been 38 posts on this topic alone. I can probably guess too that some of the posts made were based off of the original post and the reply posts were not even read. Read the whole thread, maybe what you're about to say was just said.

  6. I think that we need to look at this topic in another aspect.

We as fire service photographers do not take photos to plaster someone's face on the local news or newspaper, or to further the mental anguish cause by such a tragedy. We take these photos for the benefit of us as firefighters, our fellow brothers and sisters in service and the fire service in general.

On countless occasions when returning from a neighboring fire districts fire, I will return to the station and review the pictures with the guys to LEARN!! Looking at not only the bad but the good as well. What went right? What could be done better? And even "Hey maybe we should try that?"

How do we as a progressive service ever expect to learn from anything if either we weren't at the scene ourselves or we don't review the scene in a photograph? How are we supposed to learn from our mistakes?

I will say however, thankfully, never having to experience what Ann had to go through, I do not know how it feels to be on the other side. So we do need to remember that there are two sides to every story and be mindful of that when documenting the scene.

    Just my 2 cents
