  1. How many runs did you go on during this latest storm?

Larchmont FD - 65 runs in 24 hours.

We cover approx. 1 square mile. Mostly wire calls, but a mixture of everything. A few reported structure fires that turned out to be nothing.

  2. The air support was requested for aerial recon. and to make supply drops in areas that were still isolated. I can assume that search and rescue may have been a part of their mission in the early stages, but not while I was there. The bird you saw was likely National Guard, but aircraft from NYC DEP and NYSP were also in the area.

  3. many of these departments are being deployed to the delhi area to where our EOC is...

The Westchester County Office of Emergency Management also deployed staff to Delaware County to assit in incident management at the Emergency Operations Center. I can say that the support they are getting is much appreciated. Some of these areas up North had very little to begin with, and now have nothing. I was there yesterday and I can honestly say that everyone (local, county, and state) are working around the clock and working together to deal with this event. Thanks to all those that provided personnel and resources. Stay Safe!

  5. Much thanks to the crew of TMFD E36. It was very hot yesterday and we needed the relief. Everyone did a great job, especially those members who also worked the Rye 10-75 the night before.

  6. Larchmont FD has had a FAST for quite some time. The majority of our members have taken the required training, and we have secured a lot of the equipment that may be necessary to make a rescue. We are always getting guys through more training and attempting to secure more tools. One of the benefits of calling our Rescue to the scene of a 10-75 in the Sound Shore is we bring our FAST, Cascade System, and additional personnel if its needed. We have great relationships with our surrounding communities, and encourage everyone to consider us an additional resource.
