  1. the patrol cars in eastchester do not have either paint scheme! Get over to HQ and not Lake Isle where the auxy cars are! You will also notice an old EVAC ambulance which is used as an auxy truck.

  2. This guy is disgusting, plain and simple. And in reference to one of the replies to the article, on the article's websit, which states that the writer of the post hopes that there will be nobody available to respond when he needs it is also a disgusting thing to say. I hope that there are the best EMS/FD/PD who respond so he can see what we do everyday and realize how ignorant he truly is. Everyone, even us, have need EMS/FD/PD in some way and understand its a job that requires courage, competance and the willingness to go far beyond what is required, a job many feel is taken by those who cannot get "real jobs." If you ask me, the BEST jobs are within EMS/FD/PD, would not do anything else in the world.

    My two cents.

  4. I do not mean to sound offensive towards the involvement of the fire department on EMS jobs. I just remember a few months ago this topic was brought up and there were varied responses. My experience as an EMT working with the fire department on calls is a great one. The firemen I work with are great first responders and some are also EMT's. Some I can trust and some I cannot, that goes along with any job in life. We are always dispatched at the same time as FD and if we arrive on scene we usually cancel FD to put them back in service unless we need the extra hands. Obviously FD is needed on certian calls, especially MVA's.
