    it's a good TELEVISION SHOW

that's all it is...a TELEVISION SHOW lol

    nothing more, nothing less

just watched the first episode a few nights ago, the opening scene was great, really action packed.

I agree completely...I don't know about anyone else, but I don't really want to watch something that makes me feel like I'm at work, when I'm not. It is an entertaining look at a pretty boring and uneventful job...what are people looking for "realism" expecting...footage of everyone sitting around all day or doing interfacility transports...I for one, watch the show regularly and will keep watching it until the network decides to cancel it, like just about every other good show out there. also just my .02

  2. I just got the new blackberry curve after waiting in line for almost 2 hours in the midst of everyone who wanted the new IPhone, and honestly i can't find anything that the Iphone can do that the blackberry can. I love my AT&T service and have never had a problem with it...I've had it for almost 3 years, and the only place I can't get service is some of the out of the way places in Dutchess County (grr...Pawling and Unionvale) other than that I have full bars, even at my house which is apparently a Verizon dead spot according to the rest of my family who has Verizon.

  3. All right, I have 2 full-size lightbars available for sale.

    1) Whelen Edge 9M 48" strobe bar--8 strobes, rear flashers, takedowns, all blue, with red and yellow in the back. New lenses, less than 6 months old. light works perfectly and is VERY BRIGHT. $400

    2) Code 3 Excalibur 48" rotator bar -- high speed rotators, blue ends, white center, four blue flashers in the front, whole bar is modular. bar works great, awesome for a small SUV or car. $300

Also have a galls 5-switch switchbox to go with them, $50

Please drop me a line, I am available to meet for delivery, I live in ulster county.

  4. I know Saturday night with the big fire in Pawling 54-79 was sitting there all night......I think Pawling requested Alamo to backfill because Transcare did not have any additional rigs to cover........however Alamo was not able to assist Pawling at that time.....hmmm don't think Alamo had any available units that they could spare to send down there because they were busy taking care of their contracts!

Really? I was sitting at the Beekman/Pawling line for half the night, and we had a float unit out there, I don't remember hearing them call for Alamo to cover.

  5. I got my first two done at Aces High in New Windsor, which has since closed due to the owner moving...my third was done at Millenium Tattoo in the Town of Newburgh, where most of the staff from Aces High went to when they closed. I am extremely satisfied with all three of mine. The prices are incredibly reasonable and the quality is superb.

  6. I have a Code 3 Excalibur 44" lightbar for sale...It has clear domes and blue lenses, 3 high-speed rotators, and 4 front facing blue flashers. Bar has less than 6 hours total lit time, and is in perfect working order. For sale for 350 or best offer, please PM or email at thatbloodyirishman@gmail.com...looking to unload this rather quickly because I have a new bar going on my truck. I'm willing to meet people from the Dutchess/Orange/Putnum/Ulster area for the final purchase.

  7. Would of any of the other posters on here, besides lunchbox, like to identify themselves as Alamo employees? I think the Alamo Beekman crews who get the pleasure of going to GHCF would like to speak to you.

I'm also an Alamo employee who has the pleasure of working in Beekman every friday. I think Shawn is right, but as I have not seen the contract for either the Town of Beekman or GHCF, I can only offer my humble opinion

  8. Just a curiosty question-- Does Beekman have more than one ambulance? and if not maybe its time to start looking into getting another one.

If the call volume is growing then its time to fit the needs of the community. Just a thought..

Beekman has one ambulance of their own, 34-71, and Alamo provides one ALS ambulance, which calls out as 34-79. The way I see it, the fire department officials are more concerned that it takes a great deal longer just to get to the patient at Greenhaven than it does to go to the hospital and get back with a town resident. The question i think being, if it's gonna take X amount of time to get the crew to the patient, why not have a crew come from Poughkeepsie or Fishkill while the CO's got the inmate ready, thereby cutting both the wait time on scene of the crew, and the time that beekman is without ALS coverage

  9. You have to realize what a vast area Alamo covers though. Take into account also what else was happening in the system at that point. If Alamo had say 6 trucks on out of Poughkeepsie, figure two were on transports, and the other four could have been on other jobs in the City of Poughkeepsie. Also, the question has to be asked why didn't Fairview Fire get their ambulance out, since Rt. 9 in front Marist College is Fairviews district.
