I've used Hurst and Holmatro in the past in the fire service and I've had the opportunity to play with Amkus in the Past. The tools and metals have changed over the years and now I'm curious to see whats user friendly that will also work with the new metals, the manufactures will say there tool will do it, but I would like to hear from the end user out in the field. Thank you all for the input.

Looking to get input on people’s thoughts on hydraulic extrication tools, We’re in the process of looking to replace ours. What are your likes and dislikes, what do you think is comfortable and easy to deploy. Thanks for the input.

Nothing for nothing but when I joined the fire service over 15 years ago, you had to be accepted by your peers and earn their respect. You knew when to show up for training, you didn't have to make phone calls and send e-mails out to try and educate and train members. Today's firefighters want the respect of everyone but they need special invites to come out. Just listen to the radio, departments don't get off the floor because of that "solar pager" because its not an interesting enough call.

Just as a little to add, the engine was placed approx. 75-100 feet from the building and there was radiant heat at that distance. The deck gun was used to knock down the heavy fire at the start, with a 2 1/2" handline and 3" with blitzfire being streched at the same time. As stated earlier there is no water supply in that area, water had to be used approperiatly at the same time. I feel all in all the scene went very well.

We have the side buttons set up as quick press is light up display, scan on/off, monitor. One is set up as dual function with a long press is a key pad lock. They have a lot of different options when there set them up using the Motorola software.
