  1. I leave all my handguns in my locker at work. I used to keep one in my vehicle then my truck got towed by a NYC Sheriff for outstanding parking tags. There is no need for that anxiety, and the possibility of it falling into the wrong hands. Immediately after 9/11 I would carry a 12 guage and .223 rifle in my truck, because if the s*** hit the fan I knew I could end it rather quickly, but the Department doesn't authorize either as an off duty weapon.

I always carry my shield and ID, because I enjoy driving fast.

As far as plain clothes, I sometimes carry in plain view in a soft uniform, khaki 511 pants and blue polo with PD lofo on chest. Pistol and shield on right side, cuffs and magazine on the left.

MTACOP nice comment and I agree.

I always carry my Shield and ID, if carrying or not. I do carry alot and if not on my person it is locked in storage chest in vehicle. That is depending in where I am or what I am doing.

  2. Can we stop with all of these bright lights on emergency vehicles. I came over the hill on the sprain a few weeks ago and thanks to the rain my windshield turned into a friggin wall of blue and red. The idiot in the lane next to me forgot he was in the middle of a turn and drifted across infront of me. Yeah, he was an idiot, but I couldn't see crap either and had anyone been behind me it would have been a long night. AMBER AMBER AMBER AMBER AMBER AMBER

Well it has been said blue light is the best for visibility on adverse weather conditions. Also if the light is affecting you, not you specifically but you as the operator of the vehicle maybe you should slow down and be more cautious. The intended purpose of lights to get your attention and slow you down and make you more aware.

  3. I believe years ago it was 35%. but it's 70% now. Just to give you an idea. The window (sides) coming out of the factory with just the tempered glass on the side is 74%. So add anything to it, and your not going to pass.

This says it all. Also like said before ANY tint added after market is illegal.

  4. This sound like they do not want or need interopability. I thought the idea these days was for joint dispatch center. dosen't Orange county have a 911 Center for centralized dispatch?

Yes O.C. does it's in Chester, and the 911 center is the dispatch for these agencies currently.

I also would like the 911 center to continue dispatching. I also in one way hope this is not all for purpose of consolidation.
