  1. Although I cant remember much about this fire, even though I buffed it at the ripe old age of 2.... my grandfather drove E61 and pumped it. I also believe this was my fathers first job in PC as he got in the company that month. I recall him telling us about how it was so hot out that day and with the motor heat that they cooked eggs on the hood of the old fox.

  2. The next class will be starting February 5th at the Brookfield Fire Headquarters. Just a cross the lake.

Your dept should be getting a notice right after the 1st of the year.

This is a well run class with a good mix of instructors .

If you do not see or hear anything pm me around the middle of January and I'll register you. As you might have guessed, I'm one of the instuctors.

This class is usually followed up with a firefighter 2 class the following September.

Look forward to seeing you in class.

  4. Both the City of Danbury and the Town of Bethl dispatched to this incident at the same time. Payne Road is a major n/s road which forms the town line near I-84 exit 8. Most if not all the residental properties are in Bethel,so the bulk of the 911 calls went to Bethel 911.

There was a lot of work going on throughout the night by the various fire companies assigned to this incident from both municipalities . All involved did a tremendous job.

This incident utilized both a tanker shuttle and LDH relay of over 3100'.

Danbury E23,24 and Truck 1 were the primary suppresion units. E21 and 22 provided thier crews

While Bethel E6, Stony Hill E3 and 2 operated in the LDH relay

Bethel Tanker 1 Brookfield Tanker 1 and Germantown E10 and Tanker 10 provided the tanker shuttle.

Numerous other EMS units, medics, CTDEP as well as Bethel and Danbury PD operated at this scene.

Hawleyville E331 responded to cover the Stony Hill station in Bethel.

  5. In Connecticut, the light program is as follows:

red /white & siren for chief officers, 3 permits issued by DMV for each fire dept for thier pov's. Many FD's in Ct do not have chiefs vehicles.

    blue - volunteer firefighters

    green - vac

red lights may be used by duly sworn firepolice officers while thier pov is used to block traffic, direct traffic and only when the vehicle is NOT in motion.
