  1. Hey, I need some help here. I have a Mobile Kenwood radio that used to be mounted in a car. My guess is that the yellow wire was the power supply and the black wire goes to the speaker because the speakers wire it was connected to matches (correct me if im wrong). So my question is, how do I get this to work on house current/plug? Do I need a certain adapter? And is there an antene that needs to connect to this? Here are some pictures below.

Is that the only part you have is the faceplate part I think that model radio has more parts

  2. But what do you mean by a list of tones? A list of tone frequencies for example on paper......

Millwood Fire-----857.8 (not real just made it up)

Pelham Fire------576.4 (not real just made it up)

Larchmont Fire--754.4  (not Real Just made it up)

    And so on......

    ?

Sorry if this is getting u worked up. Im just trying to understand what you are looking/asking for.

this is the exactly the thing i am looking for thank you nrfdtl11buff for giving such a great example so people have an idea of what I am looking for

  3. If you are looking for the tone filters/reeds just go to whoever is in charge of your radios and pagers in your dept and ask what the tone frequencies are. Or simply take apart a spare pager in your firehouse and check out the tone frequencies.

CLICK THIS FOR STEP BY STEP ISTRUCTIONS. IN THIS CASE THAT PAGERS TONE FREQUENCIES ARE 767.4 AND 810.2

Hope that helps if that is what you are looking for. But if you are looking for audio clips of the tones you wont find them. The best way to get them is if you record them with your scanner program someone mentioned.

But the Minitor 3-5's dont take the tone reeds because it can be electronically programmed as well ans the acctual frequency such as 46.26 or 33.96.

this helps a lot but I would really like a list of tone for all fd's in westchester

  4. A standard UHF Portable will not work... You need a UHF Portable that is capable of being programed for Motorola Type II Trunking system.. which will cost you about $3000 for one radio.  And from what I hear... The county with this trunking system has the ability to control what radios use the system, so if they dont give you access.. it isnt going to work.. I guess they want to control who has access to this new system.... Just an FYI....

Is smart trunkII system the motorola type II system

  5. Go under the communication section of the Network and look for the following repeaters:

    -Peekskill 46.26 x-band repeater

    -Croton 46.26 x-band repeater

    -Yorktown 46.26 x-band repeater

All of these work great for me, and I like in S. Westchester. Since it looks like you are from Millwood, these frequencies should come in clear from where you live. As for a good 33.96 repeater, I believe Pound Ridge has one, or HAD one (I think there was a big debate or problem with it being up), other then that I don't think there is another (or good) 33.96 repeater up. Hope this helps.

I looked on the list I don't think there are any other 33.96 repeaters beside pound ridge

  6. Well you mean a cross-band repeater set of frequencies or what do you mean?  If that is the case, you need to go to the local frequency coordinator and get an FCC license to use it, plus permission to up-link to those two frequencies listed.

I am sorry if I explained it wrong. I was told that there are repeters around the county that recive the singnal on 46.26 or 33.96 and repeaters it on to a uhf frequency
