Hello Everyone,
The other thread was closed, presumably because we hadn't had an update in quite some time. My apologies for the duplicate thread.
This thread will be used to keep everyone up to date on any upcoming class announcements, and keep interested parties updated on new posts to our "Online Drills" area of our website. If you are interested, subscribe to this thread and I will post a reply here whenever a new drill is posted on our site. I will not start a new discussion, so it does not clog up this forum. Feel free to ask us any questions regarding our website or company by either posting your question here or drop us an email at brotherhoodinstructors@gmail.com.
Our company homepage is: http://brotherhoodinstructors.com. There you can find information on our instructors and classes available. Stay tuned to our "Training Classes" page as it is being re-designed. Perhaps our best section is our "Online Drills" area. That is available either off of the homepage or directly at the link below. I encourage everyone to take the time to give it a look and leave us a comment on our site if you have any thoughts on the various operations and/or drills.
Our only requirement is that your user name and/or nickname be your real first and last name. Our site is strictly moderated and we will not allow unsigned posts, bashing or derogatory comments. This is to keep an open, interactive discussion for all ranks and experience levels. The direct link to the "Online Drills" area is: http://brotherhoodinstructors.com/wordpress. We already have several drills/discussions posted.
Our latest drill, is entitled "Rex-Tool Modification - Part 2" and was written by Andrew Brassard. Andrew's mind is always going, trying to make tools a little more efficient or multi-functional. Here is an option that make work for you or your department. See the new drill here: http://brotherhoodinstructors.com/wordpress/?p=206
Feel free to check out the drill and leave comments, questions or tips if you would like. Chad is a great instructor and we hope to see a lot more from him on our site.
Thank you for your time, Stay safe!

quality photo should be on the cover of fire engineering or fire house. That may happen depending on what other shots he got
Let me know when the rest are posted Mike and I will see what I can do as the Photo Editor of Fire Engineering.

Wow, nice shot bro.
Great stuff.

If there is a fire at the white house or on the prem who responds?is secret service involved since there has to be some security issues with just allowing anyone in any one have any thoughts?
There was a Firehouse article about emergencies at The White House several years ago. I am sure that the Secret Service has a big part in what goes on and probably even have some trained members, but the main suppression units are DCFD engines and ladder companies.

Nice shots bro!
That was an excellent job.

The event will be held Saturday, November 3rd at the Stamford Regional Fire Training School in Stamford, CT. (Right off I-95)Further details will be posted soon.
Special thanks to Chief Robert McGrath and Stamford Fire-Rescue for their hospitality!!!!

I have to hand it to you bro, you do work fast. Nice work!
I might be able to stop by on my way back from New Hampshire, but I'll be up there Thurs, Friday and Sat doing a thing.
-
Sounds great bro.
You might be setting lofty goals for getting this done with only a month in planning. Spring might be more realistic, but if anyone can pull it off the brothers here can!
I will help out where I can, but November is a bit packed for me.
Keep me posted.

After a busy summer, I have finally caught up with the very few fires that I have shot in the past few months. None of the fires are very impressive, but as always there are shots of the brothers at work.

It's not very often (a few per year) that one of these takes place and even more rare that a camera is there to capture the photos (it seems to be about every 5-7yrs there are photos). Consider yourself one of the lucky few to get one on camera.
Nice Job

Outstanding shots brother! WTF!

A nice job in Yonkers this afternoon. Of course it was knocked down when I got there but I managed a few shots. It is a mess up there. Water mains are laid on the street due to repair work. I am surprised there hasn't been anymore work up that way.

I can't seem to find a safe place to sleep in the Bronx or Mount Vernon, lol

These guys work way too fast. I heard the job come in. The first arriving BC was so calm it sounded like he was ordering a pizza and not arriving to a heavy fire condition out of 3 windows on the top floor of a building threatening exposures.
I got out of the house and arrived relatively quickly, but everything was knocked down by the time I arrived less than 5 minutes into the job! Once again, a very well run operation!
If anyone has the box number, please PM it to me or email.

A quick top floor job a block away from this morning's 3rd alarm. They had reports of kids trapped on the top floor but I don't think that ever materialized. There wasn't much to shoot here, they had it well in hand upon my arrival.

I caught this one just before I went to bed last night. I got in pretty early. They had a very heavy fire condition in two stores as well as in the cockloft over 3 additional stores. Several large holes were cut in the roof, multiple lines were stretched and in operation very fast and companies did a great job in stopping the fire from entering the additional exposures.

This fire was in a large factory building. They had trouble locating the seat of the fire, so I started in. It ended up being a large dumpster in the basement that was quickly taken care of. Most of the shots are ventilation and overhaul.

*** NO LIVE FIRE ***
Ladder Company Operations
**NEW** Conventional Forcible Entry & Safe Interior Search Operations: ALL members will force a moderate to heavily secured door with the irons, and immediately conduct an interior search under zero-visibility conditions.
Vent, Enter & Search (VES) Operations: ALL members will safely conduct a VES operation under zero-visibility conditions while using SCBA. Don’t wait until 3am with a mother screaming and pointing, “My daughter is in that room!” to “try” this operation for your first time!
Flat-Roof Operations: ALL members will operate a power saw to conduct at least a 3’x5’ ventilation opening on a flat-roof prop.
Engine Company Operations
Stretching the Initial Attack Line: ALL members will participate & discuss various options for preconnected and static hose beds. Members will perform long stretches from a static hose bed, in an effort to “think outside of the preconnect.” Tips and techniques on correctly estimating the stretch will also be addressed.
Advancing the Initial Attack Line: ALL members will advance a 1 ¾” attack line (while flowing water) through a multiple room fire scenario. Tips and techniques for operating and managing the attack line will be stressed as the line is pushed in.
Aggressive 2 ½” Attack Line Operations: ALL members will advance a 2 ½” attack line (while flowing water) through a multiple room fire scenario. Many firefighters approach this evolution saying, “Not possible!” We show you the tips & techniques that make it possible.
You and ONE other member will advance the line through this scenario. Teamwork between the “Nozzle” and “Back-up” (2nd FF) is stressed heavily.
Class announcements & enrollment information are located on the Upcoming Classes area of our website. Or view the attached flier
