The most understaffed fire dept in West. with the work load they carry. Maybe there should be a real Fire Commissioner instead of
a Political Patronage job. does any know a good foot doctor?

When the Fairview Fire District was organized in 1928 their first Apparatus purchase was a 1928 Ahrens Fox Engine Model NS-4
Engine 1 served as front line pumper unitl 1954. It was then placed into reserve status until 1966 when it was sold to George Proper in
the Albany NY area. It was sold to a party in Mass. in the late 1970s
And then to a Fire Truck Collector in California in 1979??.
The Fairivew Fire Dept tracked it down in 1977 but is was not for sale. On March 4 2004 members of the Fairivew Fire Dept traveled to Big Bear Lake California with then intent to purchase same.
I am glad to report within the next 30 days Engine 1 will return to
its original owner the Fairview Fire Dept.
The Engine is in running condition and with most of the original
equiptment and the hose.

mutual aid they say is the answer
but if you cant get out

For all of the experts listen well and you will see
central dispatch is not the answer
food for thought

We can come up with a 1000 what ifs. You handle the incident you are responding to, not what might happen.

No offense to the Greenburgh Fire Companies but I think it is overkill when they dispatch you guys and all the Yonkers Emerg. Svs. to the highway accidents. Lately it seems as though it is getting to be a trend...let's just hope that no one gets hurt.Due to the oddity of running on the Sprain it is practical to
run north and south due to heavy traffic. And the crazy types of
emergenicies we encounter the manpower is needed. You cannot
believe the situations that have been seen by the Sprain Brook

When Code 3 chooses a model to reproduce it cannot be one of a kind
since making only 1 of , makes production prices not feasible. Westchester has a lot of nice rigs . Any more suggestions :-k =D>
