  2. from what I hear they are making camp smith an Iraq simulator to train troops going overseas. Maybe all the departments around the area should get petitions together and send them to the state and just maybe the state can find some property and build some classrooms maybe even more. Camp smith was a big asset to all the departments in the area when I was there for classes there departments from long island to the albany area. We should all contact our chiefs and starting letting ofpc know we need an academy annex around this are.

In responce to your posting about mohegans engine, pov and ambulance. We were dispatched mutual aid to the scene and the locations kept changing for both fire and ems who was too know the troop was onscene for almost an hour we went because we were dispatched I think you need to dicuss this matter with putnam 911 not bash the department coming in to help out.

  8. Time to go pay a visit to your Town Supervisor or put it in the news paper that will make the police chief look extremely bad. We had no problem with our matter of fact people as they gave said thankyou for what we were doing.

  9. Eddie what did the town police chief contribute before shutting you down we had no problem with the PD matter of fact a trooper came by and put money in the boot we worked with the light cycles and it wasnt a problem.

  10. Yes, a hydrant bag is for this same purpose, usually made of a heavy-duty vinyl or canvas material (not unlike a large rope bag).

In Rye, Engine 191 has the hydrant bag tethered to the end of the 5" hose.  That way, if you wrap the hydrant and the engine takes off down the street, there is no chance of your tools suddenly being 1200-feet down the road from you!

What is Elmsford's "hydrant box" constructed of?  Can it easily be grabbed without much effort?

In Mohegan We have a hydrant box on each apparatus

    it contains

    2 2 1/2 gates

4 spanner wrenches 2 large diameter and 2 small diameter 1 ajustable hydrant wrench 1 flash light 1 portable radio and road flairs
