  1. Regarding this IA:

    http://emtbravo.just5buckshosting.com/phpB...opic.php?t=1333

The area the subject was in a drainage area for the aquaduct and fell 25-30 Ft down into this drain area that was 60 or more feet from the road two firefighters had harnesses on and repelled down into the area with the trapped person while other firefighter rigged up and A frame and lowering ems equipment to package the patient and bring him to safety. Great job was done by all involved.

  2. If anyone is looking for info on there current Mack or retired Mack apparatus you can go online through the Mack truck museum and they will send you copies of all the info they have on your departments truck the only thing they ask for is a small donation to help keep the museum running

Some of the info i was able to obtain is

2 black and white file photo's of the truck when it was delivered to us

an original parts list and pump diogram a log book entry of all the departments around buying mack firetrucks as well as ours an advertisement on the mack 505s series pumper

multiple places that sell original mack parts

all you need to do is give them the serial number of the apparatus and they will be glad to assist you its great for finding out info on older trucks

  4. We are in the process of buying back our 1948 Chevy pumper the former engine 250. It is currently privately owned by someone up state we are picking it up in the next week or so. It is still marked Lake Mohegan FD engine 2 it is in good shape we cant wait to get it back as soon as i can pictures will be posted

  5. Personally there arent any complaints that i know of everyone is very happy there are some emergency calls still answered by mohegan and its amazing seeing the utility tear out of the firehouse and 5 mins later we get the call because some of the nursing homes dont call 911 and the FD feels they have to call for the yorktown medic then the ambulance so there are a few things that have to get handled on the fire side but we are all happy

  6. mike I'm not negative about Fasteams matter of fact i have been a member of my departments fasteam for a few years but alot of people think they are needed for every fire when in fact you dont i know there may not be an ordinary fire but there are plenty of one room fires that get knocked down with a water can You can always cancell the fasteam enroute to a call but even if you investigating a fire your usually bring in extinguishment equipment to put out a fire you come accross so your fire could be knocked out in two seconds so in alot cases you dont need a fasteam.

  7. CHRIS YOU DONT ALWAYS NEED A FASTEAM RESPONSE WE HAVE HAD ALOT OF ONE ROOM FIRES WHERE WE DIDNT CALL FOR A FASTEAM NOR DID WE NEED THEM THERE WHY TIE UP THE RESOURCES IF WE DONT NEED THEM AT ALL . HUDSON REGUARDING YOUR COMMENT ON HAVING YOUR OWN GUYS DO A FASTEAM FOR FIRE YOU COULD BE USING THOSE GUYS FOR THE ACTUAL ATTACK OF THE FIRE INSTEAD OF TIEING THEM UP ON FAST HENSE YOU CALLING IN A MUTUAL AID DEPT FOR FAST WHEN IT IS NEEDED.

  8. I know most of the county is thankful do to the fact our ems is on another channel totally its been two days and being a member of both fire and ems with mohegan its a big change to get use too i keep checking my pager to see if its on all the time because the last two days have been so quiet it is a good thing it does free up alot of airtime Hudson to address what you said it wasnt all the time we toned out 3-4 times for each call you taking a handful of calls that we do. As a vac we respond to around 3500 calls a year wich is alot for an all volunteer ems agency to handle but we handle it yes car accidents and other calls do get covered faster because we cover alot of bs calls at nursing homes and other facilities that members are burnt out that you to everyone else for supporting mohegan.

  9. 636 i was trying to be politically correct i slept just as much especially on the over nights and the ocasional nap after the head honcho's left for the day i hear the dispatch everyonce in a while and it is bad and it seems like it takes twice the time to get a bird but what can we do
