Hopefully the Police Officers here in NY are just as nice to those CT Police Officers when they come to NY and return the favor.
Its an emergency vehicle if it is going on an interfacility transport that means the patient they were transporting was too much of a risk to transport by ground let them do there job!

SPEAKING FROM EXPERIENCE WHEN I WAS A JUNIOR MEMBER IN MY DEPARTMENT WHICH IS MOHEGAN I WAITED A YEAR UNTIL I GOT A PAGER BECAUSE THEY UNDERSTANDINGLY GAVE IT TO SOMEONE THAT CAN RESPOND MORE THAN A JUNIOR CAN.
WE HAVE A GREAT SET OF RULES SET IN PLACE THEY CANT GO TO A CALL DURING SCHOOL HOURS THEY CANT LEAVE SCHOOL TO GO TO A CALL THEY ARE NOT INTERIOR FIREFIGHTERS SO WHY SHOULD THEY HAVE PAGERS ALSO WE ARE HURTING FOR PAGERS I CAN SEE MAYBE IF WE HAD A TON OF PAGERS BUT WE DONT. I CAN HONESTLY SAY MOST OF THE JUNIOR MEMBERS MOHEGAN HAS HAD OR CURRENT HAS ARE RELATIVES OF OTHER MEMBERS SO THEY CAN HEAR CALLS GO OVER. THE JUNIOR MEMBERS OF OUR DEPARTMENT ARE IN THE LEARINING STAGE THEY CAN ASSIST WITH DIFFERENT EXTERIOR TASK'S AT CALLS BUT FOR THE MOST PART ARE OBSERVERS.

FIREDAWG I THINK YOU ARE ONLY ALOUD TO HAVE 10% OF YOUR MEMBERS LIVE OUTSIDE OF YOUR DISTRICT AND IF YOU ARE TAKING PEOPLE FROM OTHER DISTRICTS YOU ARE DEPRIVING THAT DISTRICT OF HAVING A MEMBER THAT LIVES IN THERE DIST

Being there it was a small apartment fire nocked down by 1 13/4 handline. 700 ft of 5inch was layed into the scene by eng 250 and fed ladder 35 fire was nocked down in less than five minutes execelent knock down by the boys we were onscene while cause and origin conducted there investigation and while we removed smoke from the residence. the apartment was located in the rear of the home one of two apartments there at the address no extension into the main house or the other apartment just smoke
units assigned were 2261,2266 Engine 250 Ladder 35 69B2 FM 52 FM 53

in mohegan i guess we do alright with the quints
Ladder 10 is a 75ft smeal spartan gladiator with a 300 gal tank
Ladder 35 is a 105ft smeal spartan gladiator with a 500 gal tank
and eng 250 is a kme 55 ft telesquirt with a 500 gal tank top mount pump basically just an elevated water way. On a usual structual response we send Ladder 35 from HQ and waterever substation is closer too the incident where you might get another ladder on the response a telesquirt or engine

Those covers on the hose beds were not only on the mack pumpers they were also on the american La france pumpers yonkers also followed that style for along time but if you look at the trucks from back then the hose beds were much wider than they are now and seemed deeper

My Dept reponds with an engine on all our Fasteam requests I think an engine is a smart move It's been more than once that the requesting agency needs our engine for hose or too draft for tankers so it almost has a dual purpose instead of striping the same dept for another engine or ladder atleast they can put that unit to work if needed its not like it is doing anything just parked at the firescene it will be there aslong as you are there with the fasteam so why not use it.

but sometimes you shouldnt try to restore something like that in house you should have someone that know's about the old trucks restore them have a fund raiser or see if your company has the money because sometimes you create your own problems in house

hey guys lets not forget the police dispatchers, especially the county police dispatchers. Seth, i know you know what its like over here. We are short handed, and have alot of responsibilities to take care of. I have also been on the fire and ems side of the dispatching as well. I worked for the somers fire district as a dispatcher, prior to westchester ems taking over, when you were in the room by yourself handling all the radio and phones. I also worked at westcom, which was the former stat flight dispatch center, another critical dispatching job especially when your monitoring helicopters that are in flight. dispatchers all around, and not just fire/ems or police deserve around of applause and the pat on the back for the jobs they do.
