We can deliver as long as the area is semi- level and we can deliever on inclines. The only thing the company will not do is drive onto any lawns. 2. The info I went to post didnt work but here it is again.

Fairfax County 9-1-1 call takers enjoy competitive salaries and a generous employee benefits package that includes comprehensive health, dental and vision insurance, a retirement plan, 12.5 paid holidays per year and annual and sick leave. All call takers start at a base pay rate of $18.29 per hour; as you qualify in additional skill areas on the Operations floor, your rate of pay increases

  3. This is what i found on thier website. Thier starting rate is only about $.50 less than what Putnam starts.

I also saw that they work 182 days a year at 12.5 hrs a shift, thier starting salary would be somewhere near $41,000. Not sure if the 182 days include thier holiday pay.

  4. No "bull pen" after the parade? A lot of locals go to Pawling Tavern or McGrath's. I personally like McGraths. Good eats.

there is a bull pen after the parade. For anyone going, due to the location though, alcohol will only be consumed in the fenced in area (tennis courts) only. No alcohol outside the bull pen or the public alcohol area. go to www.pawlingcarnival.com for a detailed map and information

  5. Lastly FIOS TV requires either a box or converter for every TV hooked up to it. Cable does not.

That is not true, comcast which serves alot in northern putnam county and southeastern dutchess now requires a box for every tv starting jan 6th (tommorrow). its just time before cablevision and timewarner require the same thing.

  6. On what do you base this statement?

Red and white lights are addressed in the NYS VTL (Section 375-41) and there is no distinction about the direction they're facing.

I always thought the same because they are facing the rear. Now most of the H.E.L.P. trucks on I-684 and I-287 have red flashing lights in the rear, shouldnt that be illegal.

Westchester County police introduce "ghost car"

    By Shawn Cohen • spcohen@lohud.com • December 22, 2009

HAWTHORNE — Watch out for the new ghost on the highway. Westchester County police will introduce a new "ghost car" Wednesday that is designed to sneak up on motorists who are talking on hand-held cell phones, text-messaging or driving without seatbelts. The car, a white Crown Victoria like other police cars, has no rack or lights on the roof, and the county police decal on the side of the vehicle is another shade of white, rather than red and blue, to blend in with other traffic.

  8. i really have to agree with the residents on this one. Some siren are just to loud, or in some cases (i wont say what dept) very very long. I know there are sometimes glitches with technology and some people dont get the dispatch but some of these fire departments really need to update how long these fire whistles go off. I personnal think 10 cycles every 3 mins is very long and disturbing expecially at 3am. This of course is just my opinion. Im not saying get rid of them but do shorten how long they go off.

  9. im acually going through this right now with my 2007 chevy silverado. Behind one of the mudflpas began to rust and the paint is peeling. The chevy dealer im using sent it to a autobody to repaint the section under warranty. So i dont know whats the truth to this rust through or corrosion coverage. it did not rust through, just started to peel and rust.
