  2. as the title states, big 21 for me today! medical test at 15:00, work from 16:30-20:00, then you know what... ;)

Mike your too much. And knowing you Bababoosky is right, take pictures cuz you wont remember. Ill have Hamden and AMR on standby and a room at Yale ready for you. Remember I live in the room next to you if you need anything.

Anyone in the New Haven area, feel free to stop by Whitney Bar and Grill on Whitney Ave in Hamden. (I won't be able to attend, I'm not 21 yet)

  3. edit: Also, the caption is wrong, it states this is the second due engine to this auto fire. Only one engine is dispatched to wrecks/auto fires, so this wasn't a case of trying to beat anyone in.

In my department, we roll more then one engine to car fires. 2 Engines and Utility on all NYS Thruway calls (car fires, MVA's, etc.), 3 Engines on car fire calls inside the village. We also dual respond with another department on a certain area of the Thruway who also rolls with 2 Engines for car fires/MVA's.

  5. I feel like this scenario is becoming very common place lately.

I have a friend in the Atlanta FD who got into an altercation with an Atlanta PD officer after he pulled a woman out of crack house. As he was tryin to get her to a bus for smoke inhalation the officer placed her into custody and wouldn't allow the FF to take her to receive treatment. The FF tried to get the P.O. to let her get medical attention and the P.O. escalted things from there. Luckily the FF didn't get hooked up, only because supervisors saw what happened.

  6. Over the winter, Tarrytown's Utility 61 had reflective striping added to it. Finally able to get some shots of it.

The work was done at Sign Extreme in Sleepy Hollow. If you ever need something, check with them, they produce some high quality stuff and are very friendly. I got to check it out while they were striping it and I was very pleased.
